14 years old and still extremely food motivated… this was Spark’s project while the younger dogs were at a conformation show today. He rounded up 24 hours worth of enrichment toys and stashed them in his bed!

Our dogs eat breakfast out of enrichment toys every morning, to start their day with a little extra mental stimulation. Spark eats his out of the Sodapup Dog Enrichment Products honeypot toy, which fits his breakfast perfectly! Those are the larger yellow toys in his bed.

Lately, Spark can’t quite keep up with the training and exercise our younger dogs enjoy, so he also gets 1-2 “bonus” enrichment toys like a lick mat or Woof Pet Pupsicle each day.

Velle and Volt went for their first hike today! 🌲

This was just before the skies opened up and we all got soaked. They didn’t mind a bit! (It was a bad time for Dan to remember his rain jacket is no longer waterproof, though…) 🌧️

They are now 6 months old and we’re really enjoying these two goofballs! 2 puppies are 3x the work but we think they’re worth it. 💛

Bath time tip for puppies! 🛁

We love our Flying Pig Grooming elevated bath tub. It’s freestanding and goes inside your bath or shower.

Today I realized that a glass jar of meat baby food, like Beechnut or Ge**er, fits perfectly in the bottle holder. Velle was able to snack on it while I bathed and towel dried her! 👅

(I have no connection to any of these brands. I’m just sharing what works for me!)

Grooming is a fact of life for our Shelties, and my goal is to make it as pleasant for them as possible. 🪮

Velle and Volt celebrated the 4th of July with ice cream! They give the blueberry cheesecake sundae at Ra Ra’s two paws up. 🇺🇸

Wick had a great weekend in the National Owner Handler Series! He earned a NOHS group placement all four days this weekend. He won Group 4th on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday, and a Group 1st under Ms. Ann H. Roth on Friday!

Glad she’s leading puppy-related activities tonight because I’m knackered from three days of dog shows. 🥱

Today was baby Volt’s debut in the 4-6 Puppy class at the Hockamock Kennel Club AKC show! He won the Herding Group and showed like a little rockstar (candids in comments). Most importantly, he had FUN! ⚡️

Wick was Best of Opposite/Best of Breed Owner Handled at the Wampanoag Kennel Club Show this morning under Mr. Merle Taylor. After a quick nap he returned to the ring for an OH Group 4th under Ms. Marge B. Calltharp. Good boy, Wick!
