Hi All! It's been a minute, but we wanted to take a moment to thank all of our wonderful clients for their amazing support over the years and share some exciting news!

For those who don't know, Becca, my best friend and co-owner of Misfit Paws, has been silently behind the scenes, helping me build the salon of my dreams. Well, I finally roped her into getting into the salon and becoming my apprentice!

Becca comes from a similar animal-filled background to mine. She has experience with all sorts of companion and farm animals, is extremely calm in stressful situations, and is very detail-oriented, which makes her perfect for the job.

This has now allowed me to open up more availability without having to substitute the care and quality of our grooms.

So, Misfit Paws is officially looking to take in some new regular clients and expand our availability!

🇺🇸 Fourth of July Safety Reminder from CT Dog Gone Recovery 🐾
Our busiest time of the year!

The Fourth of July is a time for celebration—but for many dogs, it’s one of the most frightening nights of the year.

Every year, countless dogs panic because of fireworks and unfamiliar activity, causing many to run away from home. A few simple precautions can make all the difference.

🐶 Before the fireworks begin:
🎆 Keep your dog safely indoors in a quiet, secure room.
🦮 Always use a leash—even in your own yard if your dog is outside.
🏷️ Make sure ID tags and microchip information are up to date.
🚪 Watch doors and gates carefully as guests come and go.
🍔 Keep barbecue foods, alcohol, and other dangerous items away from pets.
📸 Have a recent photo of your dog available, just in case.

🚨 If your dog does go missing:
❌ Do NOT chase them. Chasing often causes frightened dogs to run even farther.
📞 Contact your local Animal Control and Police Department immediately.
📱 Post clear photos and the last known location on local lost and found pages.
🤝 Ask for help as soon as possible—the sooner the search begins, the better the chances of a safe reunion.
