EVERYONE KNOWS MISS VEGA ! ( black dane) She is our precious Dane that has made it through rough times.

Fiona is also a great Dane( brown) bringing her back from the brink of starvation has been a struggle but she is doing so well !

All the others are new and we gaining info about personalities as we speak ! Dont forget to come by and meet a new family member today !!!!!!!

The day you come in, and you realize all your efforts and all this time spent saving a life get you to the point where all of this is for a reason and Knowing this girl can prance and play and act like a normal dog made all of the bad things leading her to this point a tragic but forgotten past. Let's give this girl a new and amazing future!
A new beginning and a forever family. She is definitely one of the good ones, and she has the staff and everyone she meets heart!!! She was standoffish,she was starved, neglected and she was scared of humans.

Our Story

The Humane Society of Jefferson County is a private non-profit 501(c)3, limited intake, no-kill organization governed by a volunteer board of directors and dedicated staff. HSJC operates and relies exclusively on private donations and grants. As a private rescue, HSJC is able to assist other non-profit animal rescues/shelters in East Tennessee by transporting animals to our adoption center from their facility. This helps reduce over-crowding, stress, and sickness and allows more animals to find homes. HSJC hopes to continue growing with the help of donations and grants to continue providing humane treatment and care for animals of East Tennessee. Donations are greatly appreciated and are used to rescue, treat, transport, and enhance the quality of life for all animals in our care that are waiting for their forever homes.
