Wow, it's been a year already since our legal formation.
A year of building towards the goal. A year of developing relationships, priorities, & plans. Sometimes so encouraging I could barely stand it. Other times so discouraging I could barely see a way forward.
Next to my faith one of my foundational focuses that have helped me navigate my journey productively is my intention to remain in a "learning state of mind."
The following is another excerpt from our upcoming website launch & a little vision into what led up to this new exciting chapter...

" My journey to founding the Full Circle Equine Leadership Foundation began in the quiet, dusty arenas where horses and humans meet—but my own healing shaped it.
I have always been drawn to horses for their grace, intuition, and honesty. But it wasn’t until I faced severe PTSD that I truly understood their power. During my recovery, I began using the same tools I had long taught in horsemanship—mindfulness, breathing, emotional awareness, and non-verbal communication—to help regulate my own responses and rebuild a sense of calm and control.
Working with horses became a mirror for that healing. Horses respond honestly to our emotional state. If we are anxious, they feel it. If we become calm and present, they respond in kind. Through this process, I saw how horses could teach humans powerful lessons in emotional regulation, communication, trust, and leadership.
I founded Full Circle Equine Leadership Foundation to share those lessons with others—from veterans and first responders to youth, professionals, and anyone seeking greater self-awareness and resilience.
Our programs pair people with horses in ground-based experiences that foster connection, confidence, and authentic leadership—because sometimes the most powerful teachers have four legs."

The calmer you are, the clearer you think. Move with purpose, thought, clarity, & curiosity. Not with emotion.

Full Circle Horseman
One of the coolest things I get to do these days as we build our brand and cultivate our sphere of influence is talk about Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). Then just as cool, I get to answer all the resulting questions.
The 2 questions I hear overwhelmingly more than any others are:
1) What is Equine Assisted Learning?
2) What does that kind of session actually look like?

The following is a fairly condensed version of my typical answer, which generally opens up a lot more conversation...

"EAL sessions can be individual or group sessions.

**Each session involves a horse interaction facilitated by the professional or professional team.
**Though there is always a session plan, a good facilitator can be open to follow the horse’s lead.
**Often the activities are problem solving based, relationship building or focused on critical thinking and decision-making skills. **Though students can learn horsemanship skills through the sessions, it is usually not the primary goal. Most goals are focused on the development of life skills.
**Lessons are often groundwork or focused on relationships but could be mounted if it helps the client to meet specific goals".

Howdy all, we're getting close to our website launch announcement.
Here is a little excerpt/teaser...

What is Equine-Assisted Learning?
Equine-Assisted Learning is a hands-on, experiential approach where horses help people discover and develop critical life and leadership skills. Horses respond authentically to human behavior, offering non-judgmental, in-the-moment feedback that creates powerful opportunities for growth and development.

How It Works:

Experiential Activities – Ground-based exercises with horses (no riding required).

Facilitated Debriefing – Guided reflection to connect insights with real-world challenges.

Horses as Teachers – Horses mirror human emotions, helping participants notice energy, intention, and presence.

Skill Building – Learn communication, emotional regulation, empathy, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Who Benefits:

Individuals seeking personal growth

Adults and youth navigating challenges

Teams looking to build trust and collaboration

Organizations investing in leadership development

At the heart of our work is a deep respect for the horse as a teacher and partner. We empower recipient organizations, corporate leaders, professional & private clients to cultivate authentic leadership not through dominance, but through mutual trust, two-way communication, and self-awareness. By creating a safe, intentional space where horse and human can thrive together, we guide groups & individuals to lead with clarity, empathy, and purpose---both in the arena & beyond...
