This is Stewart, a Cochin bantam that wondered into the yard the other day. No one here has ever owned this breed so I'm guessing he came from a neighbors house. Only weighing about 10 oz little Stewart has been severely underfed. Probably not fed for a long period of time in a cage. Male Cochin bantams should top out around 35 oz. It'll be a long way to recovery but he's already perked up eating more and trying to crow a little. He's now resting in a quarantined pen until he's able to run the yard with all the pretty bantams hens he can Chase!

We need some insight from all of you!!! Take the lead farm is considering bringing in a Nubian doe or two to start breeding mini Nubians this fall. I love the look of them and the increased milk production the Nubian brings to the breed and the smaller size and richer milk the Nigerian offers to the breed. What we would like to know is your opinion on the breed just to see the market there is for them!

Little Zach still needs a home. He's a wonderful little buck who would make a great commercial herd sire. His sire is montage radical hilander and his dam is the hl tar baby. Sire's dam has a 93 EEE score and a 4 time GCH. And dams dam milked around 1.5 gallons a day. His genetics are full of grand champions and very heavy milkers. Offer without papers for 200 can be banded upon request and sold as a whether for 125. If you are interested in him registered please message me.

Copper bolusing time has came and the goats look amazing since their winter fuzz has been replaced with slick healthy hair. I highly recommend everyone should give their goats copper bolus every 6 months. Some research has shown that goats that receive a copper bolus have a decrease in parasite loads which is a big concern in goat herds. Also goats bodies thrive on copper. Copper sulfate is found in most feed and minerals but the copper bolus' contains copper oxide. Along with copper sulfate, iron is found in most feed and minerals. Iron inhibits absorption of copper sulfate but not copper oxide. So please goat owners take copper boluses into major consideration!

Extreme dairy bloodlines in this little boy. Zachary is a registerable alpine buckling out of the HL tarbaby. She's is full of heavy dairy producing does and some very amazing bucks. He is now available with a deposit till he is weaned. You can also buy him and his mother as a pair. I will get some better pictures tomorrow if the rain holds out long enough. He is not disbudded.
