Chicken Soup for Dogs π²πΎ
Ingredients:
- 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breast or thighs, cubed π
- 1/2 cup of chopped carrots π₯
- 1/2 cup of chopped sweet potatoes π
- 1/2 cup of chopped green beans π₯
- 1/4 cup of peas (fresh or frozen) π±
- 4 cups of low-sodium chicken broth (make sure it doesnβt contain onions or garlic) π₯£
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil π₯₯
- 1/2 cup of cooked brown rice or quinoa (optional) π
Instructions:
1. Prepare the chicken: In a large pot, heat the olive oil or coconut oil over medium heat. Add the cubed chicken and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
2. Add the broth: Pour the low-sodium chicken broth into the pot with the chicken. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 20 minutes.
3. Add the vegetables: Stir in the chopped carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and peas. Continue to simmer the soup for another 15-20 minutes, or until the vegetables are soft and cooked through.
4. (Optional) Add the grains: If using, stir in the cooked brown rice or quinoa and let it heat through for a few minutes.
5. Cool: Remove the soup from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature before serving it to your dog.
Storage:
Store any leftover chicken soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze it for longer storage.
