It's National Pet Hydration Awareness Month! Summer comes with hotter temperatures and lots of water activities! Keeping your pet hydrated, preventing dehydration and water intoxication are the topics of the month. Here's what you should know!
-80% of your pet's body is comprised of water compared to 55-60% in the human body
-Signs of dehydration include: loss of appetite, dry mouth, diarrhea, excessive panting, sunken eyes, lethargy
-If you are concerned about dehydration, please have your pet evaluated immediately by a veterinarian

Today is World Chocolate Day! While humans can enjoy chocolate as much as they want, animals cannot. Their bodies process it as a toxin and need to be seen by a veterinarian if eaten.

Chocolate may be America's favorite flavor. We like chocolate candy, ice cream, chocolate drinks, chocolate cakes, just about anything with that flavor. We may want to share our favorite treat with an eager pet but it is best to think twice and reach for the dog biscuits instead.

Penelope was very cooperative for her eye stain.

Did you know if soap get into the eyes it can cause an ocular ulcer. The abrasiveness of the soap scratches at the surface of the eye, these can be very painful and need treatment to heal properly. It's important to avoid the eyes when grooming and flush the eyes thoroughly after as well.
