Happy Volunteer Day with our Whole Foods friends 👩‍🌾

Last week, we were able to prepare our crops for the upcoming winter weather. This looked like removing tarps from above our vegetables so that they receive as much sunlight as possible. ☀️

🌺 From a little farm experiment to a beautiful harvest!

We recently welcomed Ms. Kelly and her gardening students at Frazier Revitalization to harvest our vibrant Hibiscus Roselle!

What started as an experiment by one of our farm employees, Frank, blossomed beyond our expectations. 🌱🌿✨

Did you know? These fleshy red calyxes have a delightfully tart, sweet-and-sour flavor 🍬. Once the seed pods are removed, the calyxes can be used to make a refreshing hibiscus tea. ☕

Harvesting is more than just picking produce. It’s a hands-on ritual that connects us to the food we prepare. There’s something special about picking something with your own hands and taking the time to turn it into something delicious.

We’re happy to support our friends at St. Arbor CDC in Little Elm, TX as they kick off their fall growing season with a fresh batch of collard greens and cabbage seedlings from Restorative Farms. 🥬

From seedlings to harvest, partnerships like this help strengthen local growing networks and expand access to fresh, locally grown food across our communities.

🌱 Beyond the Farm: Growing Food. Building Community.

Last week, Blane Rogers picked up a truckload of our South Dallas Super Fresh greens, donated to Brother Bill’s Helping Hand. 🥬💚

This is more than a produce donation - it’s part of the model we’re building at Hatcher Station Farm: growing fresh, nutritious food locally and connecting it directly with the communities that need it.

By partnering with organizations like Brother Bill’s, we can help expand access to fresh food while creating a model for community-driven, replicable urban agriculture.

A little piece of farm life, blooming right before our eyes. 🌸🌿

Our zinnias are soaking up the summer sun, filling the rows with color, and bringing bees and butterflies buzzing through the fields. 🐝🦋

There’s something about walking the farm early in the morning, checking the blooms, watching the pollinators work. 💐

Zinnias may be simple flowers, but here on the farm, they’re part of the rhythm of the seasons - the work, the beauty, and all the little moments that make farm life so special. 🩷🌱

That’s a wrap on summer. 🌱
It’s hard to sum up a season like this one. There were early mornings and long afternoons. There was dirt under our nails and sun on our backs. There were weeks where everything grew faster than we could keep up with, and weeks where we were just out there doing the quiet work that nobody sees.
We showed up for our community, and our community showed up right back. We met new faces, welcomed volunteers who gave us their time without hesitation, and shared this place with people who had never set foot on a farm before.
Every season teaches us something. This one reminded us why we do this work in the first place.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of it. On to fall.
