MODEL CALL! We’re searching for one small dog to perform in a photo and video content shoot with a company. Please read the following requirements:

🐶 Small breed, such as a Beagle or Jack Russell
⭐️ No specific talent required, but the dog should be confident, calm, and hold a position briefly. The dog will jump up to sit on a person’s lap and rest comfortably at their feet. The dog should be relaxed in these positions, not jittery and hyperfocused on the owner or production crew.
💵 Compensation: $$$ you will be paid for your time

📆 Shoot date: Friday, June 12th
Expect approximately 4 hours on set in the morning.
Location: Lakewood area, Dallas

We photograph dogs, not statues. 100 photos of your dog in a perfect sit make for one very boring session 🥱. But if you love your dog’s funny quirks, head tilts, the way their ears flop when they run, how they light up when they’re being showered with attention, then give us a call, because this portrait experience was made for them.

Unless your pup’s personality is that of a statue (in which case, we probably aren’t the pet photographer for you) 🗿

One of the most meaningful parts of this job is hearing from clients years later. Long after the excitement of the session fades, long after the photos are delivered. When life changes, when the house feels quieter, when the images become more than just something beautiful hanging on a wall.

Today, we received a card from a client whose sweet lab, Max, recently passed away, sharing just how much their portraits mean to them now. And honestly…this is why we do what we do. Not just to create beautiful photos, but to preserve the feeling of who they were. Their personality. Their presence. Their place in your life.

We had our first snakebite scare. Suede came in the house with a foot three times its normal size and I launched into emergency mode. We quickly removed her collar and raced to Animal Emergency Hospital North Texas. The incredible team there rushed her into the back and at first, confirmed it appeared to be a snakebite. Luckily, a blood smear revealed no echinocytes and there were no other clinical signs that would point to a bite. It was most likely an allergic reaction to something in the yard. I still panic a little just writing about it. 😰

I’m so grateful we avoided anything worse, and that resources like the National Snakebite Support group exist on Facebook so I had the first steps ingrained in my mind. As we head into summer, their quick reference guide is an invaluable one to save. Share this post with your fellow North Texas dog moms and I highly recommend joining their group if you haven’t already.

There’s something really exciting about realizing you’re still growing into the best version of yourself.

Starting my next degree at Harvard this week has me feeling inspired, challenged, creatively re-energized, and honestly…more certain than ever that I’m just getting started.

The older I get, the more I’ve learned that the best things in my life have come from saying yes to the unexpected pivots, the unconventional paths, and the ideas that felt a little too big at first.
