🇺🇸 Today we pause on this peaceful patch of land to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice so that we could wake up to mornings like this — under open skies, surrounded by green pastures and the quiet rhythm of farm life.
Freedom isn’t free. It was bought with courage, duty, and lives given on distant battlefields. Because of them, we get to raise our families here, tend to our animals, and enjoy the simple beauty of a farm at dawn.
To every fallen hero, every Gold Star family, and every veteran who carries the weight of service: thank you. Your sacrifice is not forgotten at On the Edge Farm.
We honor you today and every day.
Lest We Forget.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at On the Edge Farm 🌿🤍

Today we’re celebrating every kind of mama — the moms raising babies, the moms holding families together, the bonus moms and stepmoms who step up with open hearts, the women who love fiercely, nurture endlessly, and somehow keep showing up even on the hardest days. The world is softer because of mothers.
And of course… Happy Mother’s Day to all of our farm mamas too 🐮🐓🦃🦆
To the protective cow moms, the busy chicken mamas, the turkey moms puffing up over snacks and chaos, the watchful duck moms, and every animal mama on the farm loving their little ones in their own beautiful way — today is for you too.
Motherhood looks a little different out here on the farm, but the love, instinct, protection, and devotion are exactly the same. 💛

Just out here living my “I ride Highland cows instead of horses” era 🤠🐮✨

“I’ll be right back guys…”

drives to the yard and never emotionally returns to normal society again 🐴🌿

There is something about turning into that lane.

The hedges. The smell. The slight panic about whether you shut the gate properly this morning. The mental list running at 400mph.

And then…

You open the car door.

Mud. Hay. That oddly comforting eau de stable. A distant whinny.

And suddenly the noise in your head drops a few notches.

The yard isn’t glamorous. It’s not peaceful in a spa-retreat kind of way. There’s always hay to sweep, poo to pick, and a cob plotting world domination near the feed room.

But it’s our space.

It’s where:
• you decompress without explaining yourself
• you can be quiet without it being awkward
• you can dissolve into a mane and nobody asks questions
• and your nervous system remembers how to breathe

You might arrive overstimulated, tired, snappy, mentally juggling life.

And then you pick a hoof. Brush a neck. Lean your forehead against theirs.

And the world softens.

So yes.

“I’ll be right back guys…”

Translation: I’m off to regulate my nervous system with 600kg of emotional support animal and I will return muddier, poorer, but significantly more sane.

Every. Single. Time. 🖤🐴

What started as a peaceful walk down the hill turned into goats on espresso, cows throwing kicks, and Farmer Mat supervising absolute nonsense. 🐐🐄🤠
