With the Kentucky Derby coming up, I got a call from a local school group asking if a few students could visit the ranch and talk with me about racehorses and the effects of racing on horses and their life when they’re done with their race career.
HOLY COW! Did someone tell them that I’ve studied this endlessly and I have a true LOVE/HATE relationship with the sport? (Basically I love watching it but I hate what I’ve learned about it, and no matter what anyone says, it isn’t always pretty) Anyway I was happy to share info with them so they could finish their group project and we had a GREAT day! Thanks for visiting!!

PS…IF I had to choose, I pick SO HAPPY for the WIN tomorrow!

We all have our routines and for our 3 big horses (Whiskey, Sweet Potato and Bubbles) their morning routine is breakfast, graze a little and then naptime. That’s what they’re doing here…taking their morning nap. (Horses sometimes lay down but often they doze standing up:)
