Well, I’ve waited a bit to post this because some things need to remain private for a time. This last year was tough for me on a personal level. My husband and I split after 10 years. This split resulted in a move for me and my workshop. Now that I’m more or less settled in my new living situation, I’ll be getting my workshop back together and running again soon. Leaping pommel… Whee…..!!!!

Another Martin & Martin sidesaddle “garage door” removed. This one works but the curve is too severe for any horse. So there will be flap changes later on. For those unfamiliar, this spring mechanism holds down the flap on the off side of a side saddle. It is supposed to be relatively easy to “open” for girth adjustment. On this saddle, not only was the curve of this spring too sharp but the pocket for the spring has ripped and so the flap will need some repair or replacement.

Heading out of town this week to work with my master saddler on a nice Champion & Wilton sidesaddle. I’ll be replacing the seat and the suede on the pommels. I’m super excited about this project. Stay tuned for some cool before and after pics!

On March 12th I will start taking in repair work again. I’ve been working on some projects that I’ve had on the back burner and have some traveling this February and early March. So once I’m back from my master saddler’s place and a quick clinic for my youngster, I’ll be back open for regular business. Hope everyone has had a lovely holiday and your spring is looking wonderful!!
