Several years ago while pet sitting during Christmas a client gave me a box of rotten pears as a gift. I'm sure it wasn't intentional, they were probably regifting, and it was in a very pretty Harry & David box. But the paper was Thanksgiving themed and it smelled like the pears had been fermenting since Thanksgiving. I left them a thank you note, took it home and put it straight in the trash.

Another time a client, who was a teacher, left me a gift during the holidays. But she forgot to take off the original gift tag. She was regifting a picture frame from one of her students.

I always appreciated the fact that a client would leave me anything but I did have to laugh at some of them. 😜
