About Whitehall Collies…

Long ago, as a little girl, I was enchanted with the stories of Lad, Bruce, Grey Dawn and the other Collies living on Albert Payson Terhune’s “The Place”. Someday, I vowed, I would have a magnificent golden Collie just like Lad. in Animal Science at the University of Minnesota, but my Collie dream was on hold for many years. Then thanks to veteran Collie breeder Leslie He

rnandez of Classique Collies in Simi Valley, California, our first collie arrived. Leslie urged us to enter “Kieran” in a puppy match when he was 9 months old. We came home with a big purple ribbon rosette, some cool puppy gifts, and a beautiful silver travelling trophy on which to engrave his name. He had won “Best in Match.” We were hooked on the beauty of show Collies. A few years later, my husband received a job transfer from Orange County, California to the Atlanta area. We owned two Collies by that time, so we chose a house in the country on a couple of wooded acres. Suddenly it was possible to give our Collies their country home with plenty of room to run! Since settling in on our "Place", we have raised 4 generations of Whitehall Collies. We have so far produced a service dog, an Agility champion, a number of conformation competitors (1 finished CH, 2 IntCH title holders, AKC major-pointed dogs currently pursuing their championship titles), and 42 beloved family companions (five of which live right here!) Lord willing, we usually raise a litter of puppies once a year. I am active in the Collie Club of Georgia and the Collie Club of America, currently Editor of the national organization's Yearbook. In short, these wonderful dogs have kind of taken over, and we don't mind it one bit. Kristy & Ed McTaggart

Zoey is the dam of CH Whitehall No Frills ( #1 9-12 smooth bitch CCA 2023), nrCH Whitehall Pretty in Mink (3 majors, 13 pts), Diva (Wynhaven's Dancing With the Stars), 3 majors,14 pts, and Glenna Fiddyment’s “Peach” who just landed Best Puppy In Show (!!) at Greater Tampa Bay KC! These kids from just 2 litters.

We had one litter from Betsy x Rendell last summer, which produced the outstanding tri bitch Avondale FireHeart "Aelin" so we have repeated this breeding. See Aelin's yearbook ad, photo taken at 7 months, below.

NOTICE to all on our puppy waitlist for our Annie/Bob breeding: Sadly, Annie has had a false pregnancy and no puppies forthcoming at this time!
Our next breeding will most likely occur in January with our champion smooth girl, Fleur (CH Whitehall No Frills.) She will be bred to a rough stud dog to produce a mixed rough/smooth litter. Please pop me an email at [email protected] for more information or to get an application.
