Mississippi Coalition for Animal Protection We are a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Charity. We also work with many other rescue partners both inside and outside of South Mississippi. We are ALL VOLUNTEERS!!!

We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome (when needed) animals in crisis, by balancing animal comfort and public safety by supporting local Law Enforcement, Red Cross and Non-Violence Center. MCAP was created to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Rehome animals in crisis (including housing pets experiencing domestic violence), ensure healthy pets through education, advocacy and affordable services (including TNR)

, inspire the community where the animal-human bond is celebrated and nurtured, maximizing live outcomes for animals, while balancing animal comfort and public safety by supporting local law enforcement & animal control officers in South Mississippi as well as assisting Emergency Operations Centers & the American Red Cross during natural disasters. When Rescues work together for the good of citizens..... everyone wins, especially the pup & her human!!!!!

Yesterday, we had the honor of transporting a sweet girl.

We received a call from Terry Maguire asking about a dog needing a sitter while its person was in the hospital.

Christina Marie Garriga agreed to house this sweet pup, but pup needed a ride and some of our volunteers were available to help scoop pup up & deliver.

Update: We have been notified that HSSM has euthanized this bavy. 😭😭😭

Between collective efforts of multiple agencies, officers on & off duty, and numerous volunteers in RESCUE a Rottweiler experiencing a major medical emergency is enroute to HSSMs new After Hours Clinic.

Please share this post as this baby needs LOVE & PRAYERS!!!!! This baby is going to be cared for at HSSM & PRAYERS that owners are located.

Today was only Tuesday and the weeks already off to a very busy start.

We have 3 kitties in the hospital for various reasons

1. Fractured Jones - Orange Tabby with broken hip in back leg
2. Al Pine - Siamese Kitten with a broken leg & infection.
3. Repo Kitty - Tabby cat with infection and Upper respiratory infection.

We received a phone call from our friends at Southern Pines Healthy Pet Clinic, one of the cats we had a the clinic for Spay Surgery suddenly began giving birth to kittens this morning.
One of our volunteers rushed promptly to the clinic to welcome 7 newborn kittens into the world.

This momma and 7 NEWBORNS were brought to a foster home and settled in comfortably. The photos attached are the newest momma and her 7 new babies.

As a 100% VOLUNTEER rescue, we are very careful about intake to ensure we have resources for the pets we intake. With these surprise babies, we will be running low on KITTEN CHOW very quickly as we currently have several moms in care. Adding a mom with 7, increases how fast we go through kitten food.

If ANYONE has a heart and can DONATE Kitten CHOW for our moms and babies in care, we would greatly appreciate it.

Introducing one of our littlest warriors. This is Blue Bonnet "Al Pine". This baby was found in a plant nursery in Meridian MS. He was suspected of having a broken leg.

Upon getting to the coast, it was confirmed that he has a broken leg. He initially had a cast placed on the broken leg. But as kitty began chewing at his cast (even with a cone). He was taken back to a rescue vet.

His cast was removed to discover that his leg was very SWOLLEN. Blood work was run immediately to discover that his white blood cells count is up. His little paws are still very swollen. Please watch carefully in the video. He is a little PURRRRR MACHINE!!!

Little Al Pine is going to remain in the hospital until his infection gets better and his swollen legs go back to normal. On the plus side, another x-ray was taken recently and the break in his leg is getting better.

We need to raise $500.00 towards his care.

Update: Our baby is a fighter!!! Swelling is starting to go down. We aren't perfect yet, but a day of cuddles is helping. Our Board of Directors a we visiting him regularly to keep up moral support!!! Keep fighting little buddy.

Meet "Repo Kitty"

Repo Kitty entered rescue in the last few weeks. Repo Kitty got his name from ....... Being found in a car that was repossessed. Thankfully the company that repossessed the vehicle, contacted one of our volunteers immediately.

Repo needed immediate medical care and has been seen several times at one of our rescue vets. Right now, Repo is still hospitalized at Saucier Vet Clinic. Repo is hoping to get better, but will remain in the hospital for a bit.

At the time Repo was found, the vet discovered that Repo was already fixed recently, but unfortunately had not been microchipped. Repo is fighting to get over the infection in his body. Please wish him well or feel free to contribute to his health care bill.
We hoping to raise about $300.00 towards Repos bill.
