Starbrooks welcomed 5* eventer and New Zealand national team rider, Monica Spencer to the barn this past weekend. Despite the EHV outbreak, which limited our initial numbers, all of our boarders took advantage of the opportunity to get private, focused instruction from Monica. We so enjoyed her precise, upbeat teaching style with horses ranging all the way from the 3* level to our greenies.
Day one began with poles, gymnastics, and a lot of fog! Each horse and rider pair were able to work on their rideability as a team. Which, served them well on day two, where freezing wind did not stop the work in the field! Monica put together a completely new cross country course to challenge our riders.
We are already looking forward to her next visit to StarBrooks early 2026.
