Our support team is really fantastic. They work hard every day to provide good patient care and facilitate a positive experience for our patients and clients.

About a month ago, Dr. Jenn told them all to block off the hour after work on 6/13… but she didn’t tell them why. 🙂

As the date approached, they tried all sorts of strategies to learn the surprise, but Dr. Jenn didn’t crack. That was *part* of the fun. 😄

The bulk of the fun, though, was the experience of descending upon Second Sole Akrun and having everyone choose a new pair of shoes! We’re on our feet all day… and who doesn’t like and appreciate new shoes?!👟👟👟👟

The team at Second Sole Akrun was great, too, helping each one find just the right pair.

So much fun!

She came in distressed and in rough shape. Dr. Springer assessed her, then had her in the OR solving her problem within an hour… and five puppies as a bonus!

It was a whole team effort, this C-section. From the Tech Team and support staff handling the puppies, to Dr. Springer and Tech Ashley getting mom closed up and off the table ASAP, to Dr. Hayes and Tech Olivia keeping up with the regularly scheduled appointments… Valentine’s Day morning was pretty exciting.

Did you know honeybees acquire parasites just like our dog and cat friends?

Unlike parasites with our companion animals, where finding just one is indication to treat, Varroa mites are a big problem for bees, and *all* colonies struggle with them to one degree or another. Their numbers must be managed, they cannot be eliminated.

Our colonies made it quite some time before the mite threshold reached the time to treat, but that time has come, so we’ll be treating this week.

Choosing a strategy is tricky, because some treatments aren’t compatible with keeping the honey, and others aren’t as effective. Most of the treatments can be given in concentrations to really beat back the mites, but those high concentrations would kill the bees. Striking the balance with product choice, strength, and timing is the key.

All sorts of new additions at Cuyahoga Falls Veterinary Clinic this year!

in Honey Bee CFVC Apiary Society We at Cuyahoga Falls Veterinary Clinic waded into new territory this year, starting an apiary on our grounds! No need to fear, though! The bees are extremely docile (Dr. Gates handles them regularly), and they’re housed at the back end of our parking lot, away from...

We’ve heard from some, “When are you going to let us in?” Please be patient. Hopefully the south addition visible from our entrance, the dumpster in the front parking lot, the pile of gravel to be used for the massive water detention system yet to be installed, and the seemingly omnipresent work trucks are sufficient evidence that there’s big stuff in the works.
The expansion and remodeling project is nearly done, and right now there are new cabinets going in, old cabinets ready to go out, new flooring ready to go, HVAC to complete…. There’s just no space for anything beyond the specific practice of veterinary medicine (and sometimes not even enough for that!). This is a *full-scale* expansion and remodeling of our building.
If you haven’t heard the scoop from Dr. Ryan or Dr. Jenn in person, please visit our blog at fallsvetclinic.com for details and the full explanation. (Linked here is our IG where you can see some photos of the progress.) This is about best positioning ourselves to meet the demand that emerged post pandemic.
The latest update…
Lab extension cabinets and counters are in!
New floor in process!
New exam rooms taking shape!
This is coming together!!!
And stay tuned for some exciting information about a new addition to the team…!
