I’m a week late in posting my next featured groomer but it’s better late than never! In the hot seat this week is Megan. This girl is a grooming champion with a heart of gold. Megan has worked in this industry since age 18 and began her career as a bather for corporate grooming. For many years (6 or 7 I think) she diligently bathed and brushed every dog as if it were her own. Megan has a quiet patience that sets all the dogs at ease. For two years now (maybe a little longer) Megan bathed, brushed and clipped her way to the top and is grooming genius. Give her any doodle and she will return it was the smoothest and softest dog you’ll ever see. Bring her a puppy and she accepts the challenge with ease, talking baby talk and using gentle hands she easily wins over the most scared of any puppy. Megan is apprentice taught which means she learned hands on by working with me and watching other groomers. Megan always looks out for every dog and has a heart for the geriatric old lady’s and guys (dogs that is) and specializes in grooming them. In her spare time Megan enjoys gaming and watching the newest show series or movie. She enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and her managerie of animals including a very cute cavalier King Charles spaniel named Axel who you will see running around the shop every day. Occasionally you’ll see her poodle mix Gizmo come for a visit as well.

Hey there! I’m Leslie, the owner, operator and main groomer for Smoochi Poochi pet grooming. I got my start as a groomer working for the corporate grooming world and that’s also where I got my education. In 2013 I started as a bather and worked my way up to full time groomer within two years. I had some pretty amazing teachers and learned from a lot of talented women. From there I worked my little heart out and eventually the corporate industry burned me out and I had to move on to bigger and better. In 2020 I began my own side business grooming pets from my basement at home and grew things strictly by word of mouth. Eventually in 2022 I knew I had gotten way too many followers to continue grooming from home and sought out booth rental from another groomer. Shortly after renting that booth I was offered the opportunity to buy the existing business. I didn’t know how I was going to do it and barely had a penny to my name but I said “sure!” And off I went! To put it bluntly it was a year of failures and fumbles but I did it, I made it through and somehow paid off a massive amount of money in just 8 months and it was officially mine. Things were happening at a rapid pace and I was growing and growing! I eventually needed help and that’s how I came to have all the lovely ladies you see in the shop every day. I continue teaching and guiding and every day I’m working to learn how to operate this side of pet grooming. It’s not always pretty, I have days where I just want to quit but then I look at the cute faces on my table and can’t imagine not doing this every day. In my spare time you can find me catching up on the newest tv series, immersing myself into apocalyptic thrillers and baking sourdough bread. I spend time with my very loving and supportive husband and right by my side you will always find my insanely cute Boston terrier Maverick. If im not hanging out with Maverick you will find me on the road teaching my bonus daughter Rylee how to drive or at my camper relaxing from a hard days work. I have one daughter who is also a groomer and 3 bonus daughters.

Hey, hiya, howdy, hello, hola hi! I’m Leslie and I just so happen to be the owner operator of this amazing business here! Each week for the next 6 weeks I’ll be featuring one of our lovely and talented groomers on this page. It’s about time we introduce ourselves and show you just what we’re made of. This week I’ll start with myself and give you some insight on just what it’s like to own and operate a pet grooming business…..stay tuned!

We kindly ask that our customers not call or show up unexpectedly before your dog is done. This poses a huge safety risk for both groomer and dog. Furthermore it tends to make us feel rushed and when we rush we make mistakes and accidents tend to happen more often. If we give you a quote of how long it’s going to take it is simply just a quote, not a definite time your pet will be done. I assure you, your pet is comfortable and has access to water. Lastly, for any customer wishing to repeatedly call or come back in we will be stopping the service and sending your pet home whether they are done or not.
