Rainy Day Grooming

Rainy Day Grooming Saturdays through Tuesday in Custer City PA Grooming isn't just a job, it's a passion!! Then I apprenticed with an experienced groomer and learned the trade.

I have been an animal person my whole life and have been grooming on and off for over 20 years. I learned to groom when I was in my teens, practicing on the neighbors dogs. Always looking to expand my knowledge and do a better job I've now added a Hanvey Hair vac system to my shops. I promise to treat your pet with compassion and kindness all while getting the job done. Prices vary by dog and the job that needs to be done. Baths run from $20 and up. Full clips start at $35 and up.

Good day everyone.

Despite being on crutches and having a full schedule, papers have been signed.

22 E. Warren Road will be our new location for grooming starting December 6th....this is dependent on me getting off of crutches soon though....we may or may not be grooming at home until boarding opens up in mid January(fingers crossed).

Yes, my timeline is still on schedule but life happens and I will call or text every client who has a grooming appointment to confirm where their next appointment will be if it changes.

French drains have been cut and jackhammered...will be installed Monday into Tuesday.

Front office has been put into place, thanks to the Shed Guy in Kane PA helping us design a cozy little place to just slide into place...saving time and giving the building a more homey feel. Since these photo's were taken it's been closed off and neatened up and looks like it's part of the old building.

Will continue to update a time allows...got a jam packed grooming schedule so I am really thankful for my contractor who is putting in the work.

This knee issue couldn't have come at a worse time but I will persevere and am very grateful for everything.

Despite delays work will start this week.

We are moving ahead so our timeline will stay on track.

Also, I've asked Facebook to change the name of this page 2 times now, waited the 3 days and it still isn't changed. Hang in there, it'll get done.

Good morning Everyone!!

I have no updates because, well, lawyers take their own sweet time doing paperwork. We're still moving along though and have a plan in place once the paperwork is signed......soon-ish?

I have a grooming schedule update for all my current clients....

Christmas....yes, again, it's on the way and I'm closing up shop from December 21st until January 4th.

I'm closing up this year mostly due to all the cancellations and no shows as the holiday approaches. I get it, family comes in, things get chaotic but I am not going to facilitate last minute appointments this year, we've done it for the past 11 years but the last few years have been ridiculous with people that just don't call or do not show up for their appointment. The next reason we're closing up for that time is to make sure we're on schedule for opening up in January for boarding.

All this being said, I'm already scheduling out for December. We will be grooming the entire week before closing....the 13th through the 20th....everyday, this is mainly to make sure every one of my clients who want their dog to be clean and tidy for the holiday, can be. As of right now, only the 17th, 18th and 19th have any space.

Unfortunately, this year, I will not have time to make custom bandannas for everyone but never fear, we will still have the regular Christmas bandannas.

I hope everyone has a great day!!

Good day everyone!!

I've been handing out information sheets for my customers to fill out. Here's specifically why.....and if you haven't gotten one yet, you will when you bring your dog to your next appointment....

We're upgrading the way we do there things here. Having a grooming business is one thing....but when you add scheduling for boarding and daycare....well...that's more than I can handle on my own so I've opted to purchase software that will help out with all of that... Gingr is the name of the software and I'm updating my grooming clients first into the system since they will be the first to be at the new building.

When I launch this software for everyone to use, you will receive an email explaining the process and since my grooming customers will already be in there, all they will have to do is log onto the app with their email they used and change the password and waahlaah....you will have access to your pets appointments and the schedule so you can adjust the appointment if you need to(Obviously that will be to what will be available at the time).

Boarding and daycare customers will be able to create their own accounts, update paperwork(shot records etc.) and book their dates ahead of time, making the whole process run smoothly and efficiently...(that's the aim of it all anyhow...lol).

I'm hoping to have the grooming aspect at the new location of 22 E Warren Road, Custer City set up for use by December 6th.

Boarding and Daycare up and running by mid-January....this is an approximate time frame...there's lots to get done.

Thanks all!!

Just thought I'd address a few questions that have popped up.

Yes, Rainy Day Kennels will remain open, forever as far as I know. The Darts are wonderful people and their kennel in Smethport is a great option for anyone who needs boarding.

Rainy Day Grooming was my part of Rainy Day...my own entity so to speak.....I opened up my grooming shop in Nancy Darts kennel when she opened her first kennel roughly 25 years ago...lived abroad for 13 years and upon my settling back into the US, opened back up with her again. I will keep Rainy Day GROOMING until we move down to the new building and start grooming out of there. At that point in time I will dissolve Rainy Day Grooming and fully become Forest Haven Kennels....Boarding, Grooming and Doggy Daycare.

We will be offering doggy daycare, every day, seven days a week.

We will be grooming dogs as usual but at a much easier location with no more driveway issues and time crunches.

Boarding will be available January, 2026, I do not have an exact date in January yet but will as time gets closer to opening.

I will not be posting our rates yet, that will be made public once we get closer to opening.

So sit back and enjoy our journey with us, we will update you as things progress. photo dumps, ideas and progress.
