Help Bo + 24 rescue dogs in Cushing, TX
Bo needs the vet now. He’s the son of the dog who stopped his rescuer from su***de. His dad Max passed from cancer. His mom Bella was old and blind — she was let go 2 months ago to end her suffering. Bo carried his person through that grief. Now Bo needs us.
Bo’s vet care:
- $200 already on the books at the vet — thank you
- $300 more minimum needed to start testing + meds. Total may be more once vet knows what’s wrong.
- Donations go straight to the vet: Southside Veterinarian Clinic, 932-564-4422, account “Tamara Mixon / For The Love Of Dog’s North Texas Rescue”
The other 24 dogs:
All 24 dogs live inside with kennels and are put up inside every night. They’re safe, fed, and loved.
On nice days, they go outside during the day to run under the trees in East Texas. Right now that takes hours of handling time every day.
What the 24 dogs need — $2,500 minimum:
1. Large to XL dog houses so they have a safe spot during the day if storms pop up while they’re out. No dog stays out at night — ever. If a dog wants back in, they come in immediately.
2. More fencing to expand safe play yards so dog groups have more space to run together during the day
3. Heartgard Plus 50-100lb — 25 monthly chewables for easier prevention
Why this matters: Making daytime care simpler means the handlers can keep the rescue going long-term. A couple dogs already enjoy daytime outside unless it’s too hot, cold, or storming. They’re thriving. The goal is to give all 24 that same safe freedom during the day, then safe inside every night.
These are death-row dogs, mostly black dogs and pit mixes. All are vetted. Adopters get home checks + vet references. No breeds are misrepresented.
