One of the most beautiful parts of building this business has been the people who have shown up beside me. The students who step in to feed so I can catch my breath, the parents who lend a hand, the friends and family who drop everything to help, and Christopher, who stays up late sanding jumps with me under the barn lights. This isn’t something I could do alone, and thankfully, I don’t have to.
Starting a business as a horse trainer means signing up for long hours, hard work, and often, little to no paycheck. It means working two jobs to keep the dream alive. It means skipping paychecks and buying paint, wood, and tools instead, not because I have to, but because I want the ring to feel magical and fresh for the kids who ride here.
It’s missing dinners and weekends to make sure each client has a chance to ride. It’s rearranging everything when the vet or farrier can only come at one specific time. It’s checking on horses late at night, dragging the arena long after dark, and running horses in during rain storms, all before doing it again the next day.
Right now, every dollar earned goes right back into the program, into keeping the lights on, the horses cared for, and the lesson program running. I say no to my own wants so these kids and horses can say yes to their dreams.
And still… I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Because this barn is more than a business. It’s a home. A team. A family. I’ve watched shy riders become brave. I’ve seen horses bloom with trust. I’ve seen kids glow after doing something they once thought was impossible.
Yes, the work is hard. Yes, the hours are long. And yes, sometimes it’s overwhelming. But the community we’re building? The confidence, joy, and connection growing here? It makes every late night, early morning, and hard-earned dollar worth it.
We’re building something special! One jump, one ride, one helping hand at a time. 💛🐴 💙
