I offer you a choice of boarding your pets here at MEOW MANOR or I will sit with them at YOUR home. I have a dedicated room for pet boarding.

It has two cat trees, an exercise wheel, electronic cat toys, and 3 windows to watch birds from. I specialize in cats but will board dogs 20 pounds and under. I am also happy to come to your home to do visits or overnight sitting. I am an experienced Culpeper Humane Society foster mom.

Meet Teresa, the heart behind The Cat’s Pajamas Pet Boarding. For her, caring for cats is more than just a business, it’s a lifelong passion. Over the past eight years, she has volunteered with the Culpeper Humane Society and MAD Cats, gaining invaluable experience with cats of all temperaments, from playful kittens to reserved semi-ferals. Each one, she says, has left a unique paw-print on her heart.

The inspiration for The Cat’s Pajamas first came when a friend asked Teresa to look after her cats during a move. She quickly realized that creating a boarding business would allow her to combine her volunteer experience with personalized, stress-free pet care. The business would also allow Teresa to continue her support of local rescue work.

Her services include pet wellness visits with fresh food and water, litter box care, medication as needed, and of course, plenty of playtime, cuddles, and daily photo updates. Teresa also offers a pet taxi service, making trips to the vet or groomers easy and worry-free.

For cats who need a home away from home, she welcomes them to her cozy Meow Manor. This dedicated boarding space featuring cat trees, an exercise wheel, interactive toys, birdwatching windows, and even a TV with animal shows for curious viewers. Guests begin in the “kitten room” before exploring more of the home, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and right at home.

What sets Teresa apart is not just her services, but her heart. She is experienced in administering medications (oral, topical, or injectable) and has a deep understanding of feline body language, giving her the ability to connect with even the shyest cats. Every pet in her care is treated like family, and to give back, she donates a portion of her profits to local rescue groups. Teresa shares, “I’ve never met a cat that I didn’t love!”

Bluey’s Lament

Many of you know me as the shop cat at Reigning Cats & Dogs & Kindness. I became an associate at the store, the greeter and window dressing, when our store manager, Lindsey, took me in as a young street cat.

I have suffered from obesity since I was a kitten. When I prowled the streets my scavenging skills led me to eat anything and everything I could find, because I never knew when I would find my next meal. Unfortunately those bad habits caused me gain a lot of weight.

Now, despite portion control, and time to exercise in the store, I am struggling with losing weight. People come into the store and comment on my weight and my big feelings are hurt. Fat shaming is unkind, even when directed at a fat cat. While comments about my big belly may be made without any intended malice, customers who have overheard such comments, particularly when they themselves are overweight, show sympathy toward me. They know just how I feel.

Joking about body image, whether overweight or underweight is not cool. All beings deserve to be treated with kindness and not shamed for their body.

Recently we had an incident in the store because a customer commented about my fat belly. Lindsey came to my rescue again, and tried to convey my feelings to the customer. Since then, a lot of ugly messages have been posted on our Facebook and Instagram. This is not cool. All this stress is making me want to binge eat a few mice, but we don't have any in the shop, and I don't want to return to my old ways.
