April 10th marks Griz’s 4th birthday. What a wonderful 4 years it has been. He is a great companion, friend, family member and fierce competitor. We started working with Griz at Shady Grove Kennels with Neil Shelby who assured me Griz had what it took to be a good retriever and…Pointing Lab. Griz has spent considerable time at Feather Point Retrievers being trained by Blake Haddock and the Feather Point team. Griz has had great success in HRC, APLA and AKC events. He loves to work hard while training and enjoys lounging in my recliner whether I’m in it, or not. Griz will be headed back to Billings, MT this Fall, his birthplace, where he will try to qualify for his 2nd Triple Crown. 👑 Thanks to all the people who have helped along the way and have the patience to listen to all my Griz stories which usually end with “and…he points”.🙂

Both Griz and Chopper ran APLA tests last weekend in NC. Both did well and passed on Saturday but didn't make the grade on Sunday. It was nice seeing our Pointing Lab friends again and seeing all the beautiful dogs at work.

Griz is back at Feather Point Retrievers where he will tune up under the watchful eyes of Blake and Landin Haddock. Chopper is there with him as well. Hunt test season is upon us and Griz plans to make a return to the Triple Crown hoping to earn his 2nd plate.

Back on Solid Ground - Griz had a great time at Feather Point Retrievers this week getting to work both Upland and Retriever training. The best part was being able to run at "Griz Speed" without slipping on ice and snow. Additionally, he got to meet some new dogs and reacquaint with some friends form the past including our favorite Chocolate Girl Rome.
