Dear Community,
It is with mixed emotions that we announce today the permanent closure of SNYPD and SNYP Thrift Avenue.
Since opening in 2019, we have been blessed by the incredible support of this community. Through every move, every challenge, and every time we reached out for help, you were there for us. Your kindness, generosity, and loyalty have meant more to us than words can express.
We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all of our customers, donors, volunteers, and supporters. Thank you for believing in our mission and standing by us throughout the years. We are going to miss seeing your faces every day and being a part of your lives. The relationships we built with each of you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
As we close this chapter, we also want to be transparent about the challenges we continue to face. We still have outstanding debt that needs to be paid, a loan for our A/C system. In addition, we had nearly $2,000 saved, to go towards that loan, and unfortunately, approximately half of those funds went missing from our deposit bag. Because of this setback, we must begin again in paying off this debt. To help meet these obligations, we will continue holding our waffle fundraisers and appreciate any support from the community. We will announce the winner of the Wrangler Purse tomorrow.
While this chapter is coming to an end, we are excited to share that a new organization is preparing to serve our community. Loved Thrift Store is now in the building and is currently in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under the Loved Foundation. They will be open tomorrow. Please follow and like their page to see their hours of operation and what they have in store for the community.
The Love Foundation plans to work closely with organizations such as Golden Crescent Workforce and the Cuero community to assist individuals and families facing hardships. Their mission will include helping those who have lost their belongings due to fire, families in need of household items, and children requiring clothing and supplies for school who cannot afford these things.
Just as we did, Loved Thrift Store will accept donations of clothing, shoes, toys, household items, linens, and approved furniture. They are also working to establish a donation hut where community members can conveniently drop off donated items.
We wholeheartedly support the Loved Foundation and Loved Thrift Store we encourage our community to support them as they begin this important work. We believe they will continue the spirit of giving and community service that has always been so important to us.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for allowing us to serve this community for the past several years. Your support has made an immeasurable impact, and we will forever be grateful.
With love and appreciation,
The SNYPD Team❤️🐶🐱
