We received this sweet boy yesterday who had been brought to the family by their cat. The bacteria in cat saliva is toxic to wildlife. Even if the animal appears okay, they need a rehabber and a round of antibiotics in order to survive. The family was unable to find a rehabber to take him until they were given our number a day later. Without immediate treatment, the outlook is grim, and unfortunately, he passed away. 😢

Rodenticides kill more than just rodents! They have a detrimental impact on our native wildlife. There are many other alternatives that are safer. Please do your research before purchasing products such as these. Here’s a great article with alternatives to rodenticides from

Don’t forget about Aimee’s incubator fundraiser!!! It’s gotten a slow start, but we’d like to find it as soon as possible so she can help more orphaned wildlife!!!

A wildlife officer recommended I volunteer at a birds of prey facility that was in need. I began there, caring for birds. That opened me up to the world of rehab and rescue. I began doing transport, releases, and learning about many other species needing assistance. Now I can do just about anything....
