🚨 TICK ALERT: Crystal Lake & Surrounding Areas 🚨
​We’ve seen a major rise in tick-borne diseases at Fox Valley Animal Hospital recently. These include: Lyme disease, Anaplasma and even Rocky Mountain spotted fever.

​Watch for these symptoms:
🌡️ Fever or Lethargy
🥣 Poor appetite
💧 Increased thirst/urination
🐾Walking "stiff" or joint pain

​The good news? Most of these are curable with antibiotics if caught early! Our yearly 4dx heartworm test already screens for Lyme, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia.

​What prevention should you use?
✅ Best All-In-One: We now carry Credelio Quattro! It’s the fastest-acting against ticks and covers fleas, heartworm, and intestinal worms too.
✅ Other Orals: Simparica, Nexgard, or Bravecto (Note: Orals aren't recommended for pets with a history of seizures).
✅ Topicals: Vectra is our top recommendation for topical protection.
​⚠️ Pro-Tip: Check your pets (and yourself!) after every walk. The faster a tick is removed, the lower the risk of infection.
