In memory of Roscoe (a/k/a "Rocky")
Rescued on December 22, 2009.
Went to canine heaven on April 4, 2022.
My favorite story of this little guy's kindness and sympathy: when I became an empty nester for the first time (fall of 2012), Roscoe was 6 years old in human years and had been with our family for almost 3 years. He was the typical high-energy "what have you done for me lately?" JRT. A difficult situation because I was grieving and missing Isabelle, now in Seattle. From the moment I dropped Isabelle at the airport for her one-way flight to Seattle, until mid-January of 2013, Roscoe felt and understood my mood. I could go to work but that was about all I could do. This little guy lay beside me on the sofa, asking for nothing more than the usual bathroom breaks and to be fed. Then after 90 days of missing Isabelle, I was ready to face life as an empty nester. He knew it and sprang into action! We started walking and playing again.

Only the most emotionally intelligent animals would respect my depressed state and go along with it. THAT is the kind of love and support Roscoe gave, when I needed it the most.
