This was a Bloody Mary my husband had at the Milwaukee Public Market this summer. This thing was insane!
It had a burger, fresh cheese curds, a pickle, a fresh meat stick, mozzarella whips, and a tiny beer chaser 😆

A little over a year ago, Lakeshore PAWS received three pups from a local individual who was arrested for hoarding a large amount of animals. (The other types of animals found refuge at other rescues).
This wonderful shepherd mix, Jane, found the key to my heart with those big soulful eyes and a spirit that could not be broken.
Jane was extremely thin and not in the best health when we got her since, due to the deplorable situation, she had had no veterinary care at all.
Is it easy to see dogs in this condition, and feel every single one of their bones when you pet them? Not at all.
But it is wholeheartedly true that the most worthwhile things in life are not easy.
You know what was easy?
Loving her.
Snuggling with her on the cozy couch at the rescue.
Bringing a book and reading out loud to her, while she laid her head in my lap and knew I was a safe person.
Rescue is full of difficult decisions, sights, smells, and situations.
But it’s also the most beautiful and magical thing you’ll ever witness.
If you’re lucky.
And I truly am ❤️
(And Jane is indeed happily adopted!)
