Sending out a huge Thank You to everyone that stopped by the Crow Wing County Fair.

After Sunday teardown and rest we have a busy week of chores that were put off during the fair. I am off today to get the first load of hay for the winter. Tomorrow, if it doesn't rain, it will be mowing and Thursday another load of hay pick up.

We appreciate all those that stopped and shopped, asked for information on alpacas or just stopped to say Hi and make the fair interesting. Until next year...

our new adventure

We started Indigo Alpaca Ranch in the summer of 2015, with four females and two males, with the goals of improving our stock and using their fiber to make soft, warm products. Currently we have eight females and five males and the huge addition of Wager the Drama Llama. We had two babies, which are called cria, in 2016. In 2017, we opened “A piece of Indigo” farm store, and are expecting at least two cria in early June 2018. (Alpacas are pregnant 11.5 +/- months.) We are slowly but surely completing our goals of breeding better alpacas and producing products from their fleece. As of now we have hats, scarves, mittens, dryer balls, felted soap, bird nesting balls, yarn, roving (for hand spinners) and more.
