NEW CLIENTS PLEASE READ!!
I feel the need to address something that has affected some fellow colleagues. Hasn’t happened to me yet, but in the event it does, I want my clients to be well aware.
There is a someone recommending themselves as a groomer, with zero training, schooling, mentoring- for $20-30.
They are unlicensed, and do not carry insurance.
They do not have professional equipment, nor do they use professional products. There has already been an instance of a violent skin reaction because they used Pantene and cooking oil on a dog that came for grooming. This poor dog had to be taken back to its original Groomer and be bathed five times before its coat was anywhere near back to normal.
So if you are posting to local Facebook groups asking for grooming recommendations, and somebody recommends themselves, beware and do your homework. Ask for references. Ask for before and after pictures of their work. Ask where their facility is, and what products are used. Do they have a business license? Liability insurance in case of an accident?
These people falling for this- then call and try to get back into their prior groomer. But if their groomer has marked off their standing appts, they may not be able to get back on their schedule. And some Groomers may not want to take them back at all.
I have been grooming here 35 years. I have amazing, loyal clients. Thank you!!!
Crossville does have some very talented groomers. And I have no issue referring to the ones I trust. But it’s very disheartening to see someone literally roll out of bed and decide they’re a dog groomer, advertise and recommend themselves, when they have no experience whatsoever. Please don’t fall for it.
