Overnights with Sossa and Beethoven were such a joy. 🐾 From snuggles on the couch to bedtime routines, these two always make me feel right at home.

They do great with their invisible fence too. ⚡ Did you know dogs usually learn the boundaries in just a week or two with proper training? The system uses a warning tone or vibration before any correction, so it’s more about habit than anything else. Invisible fences can even be shaped around gardens, pools, or driveways, and one system can handle multiple pets as long as each has a collar.

It’s a smart way to give pups freedom while keeping them safe in their own yard — and Beethoven has it down to an art. 🐶💛

Jace and Peach have been such a blast to hang out with — full of energy and always keeping me laughing. 🐶 Their little crew also includes two snakes (so neat watching them, and crazy how they use their tongues to “smell” the air) and the guinea pigs, Marceline and Hecate. 🐹 Guinea pigs crack me up with how vocal they are, and when they get excited, they do little jumps called popcorning.

Hecate has since passed, and she’ll definitely be missed. 💛🌿

Had the best time with Arlo, Ellie, Lacy & Stan during my drop-in visits. They were all about the ball and never got tired of chasing it down. Love seeing those happy faces! 🐾💛

• 🎾 Chasing instinct: Playing fetch with a ball taps into a dog’s natural prey drive — the chase, catch, and return mimic hunting behaviors in a fun, safe way.
• 🐶 Exercise boost: A game of fetch with a tennis ball can burn a lot of energy fast, making it perfect for high-energy breeds.
• 🦷 Watch the teeth: Regular tennis balls can be a bit abrasive on enamel if used too often. Many companies now make dog-safe “tennis balls” that are softer on teeth.
• 🧠 Brain workout too: Fetch isn’t just physical — it’s mental. Remembering the game rules, tracking the ball, and practicing “drop it” all engage a dog’s brain.
• 🐾 Bonding time: That back-and-forth game of fetch strengthens the connection between dogs and their people.

Had my hands (and heart) full with Ghost, Knox, Rex, Xena, Zara & Zuki! 🐶🐾 Six dogs = six times the love, energy, and tail wags. They kept me on my toes, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

A quick fun fact and safety tip: crates aren’t just for training — when used the right way, they can be a dog’s safe space. 💤 Always make sure crates are big enough for them to stand, turn around, and lie down comfortably. Never use them as punishment, and keep water breaks and comfy bedding nearby. When introduced positively, most pups see their crate as their own little den. 🐾💛

Boarding Millie and Maisie has been extra special. 💛 I’ve known Millie since she was just a tiny puppy — I used to feed her every two hours when she was battling hypoglycemia, and I even carried her through her hospital stay. We became besties back then, and that bond has only grown stronger.

Now, seeing her alongside Maisie, happy and healthy, makes my heart full. These two girls are such a joy to spend time with. 🐾

In Loving Memory of Lola 💔🌸

One of the hardest parts of being a pet sitter is saying goodbye. I had the privilege of caring for sweet Lola over the past couple of years, and last month during our drop-in visits, I didn’t know it would be the last time I got to see her wagging tail.

Lola has since crossed the rainbow bridge, and my heart aches. I love your pets as if they were my own, and when they leave this world, I grieve right alongside you. It’s never “just a job” — it’s building bonds, sharing joy, and holding onto memories that stay with me forever.

Run free, sweet Lola. You will be so deeply missed and always remembered. 🌈🐾

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month 🐾

Our pets can’t tell us when they’re hurting, but they often show it in little ways. Because animals are so good at hiding discomfort, it’s important to know the signs.

⚠️ Possible signs of pain in pets:
• Limping or stiffness
• Moving less or avoiding stairs/jumping
• Change in appetite or sleep
• Whining, yelping, or unusual vocalizing
• Hiding or seeming irritable

As a pet sitter, I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and daily routines. If I notice any changes that may point to discomfort or pain, I’ll always keep you informed so your pet gets the care they need. 💙

🐶🐱 Remember — early detection means quicker relief and better quality of life for our furry friends.

Overnights with Bandit & Mikkah! 🐾🌙

Spending overnights with these two means lots of cuddles, playtime, and making sure they’re well cared for (and maybe a little spoiled 🐕❤️).

✨ Fun Husky Facts ✨
• Huskies are known for their endless energy—they were originally bred as sled dogs to run long distances in freezing climates.
• Despite their fluffy coats, huskies are actually pretty clean dogs and have very little “doggy odor.”
• They’re escape artists at heart! Huskies are smart, curious, and determined, which makes a secure yard (and lots of exercise) a must.
• Their famous “talking” howls are a way of communicating, and every husky has their own unique voice. 🎶

Sweet Hylo & Graham 🐾

Overnights with these two cuties! Graham is a golden retriever puppy who’s still learning the ropes, and he’s doing such a great job. Big brother Hylo is the patient, wise older guy who tolerates his puppy sibling so well. They’re both absolute sweethearts, and I reay enjoyed my time with them! 💛🐶

Overnights with Chubbs & Fritz ♥️

These two are the most social cats I’ve ever met—always ready to greet me, supervise everything I do, and get into a little (or a lot of) mischief. From exploring every corner of the house to hopping up for attention, they kept me on my toes in the best way.

I loved every minute of caring for these boys!
