If you have a soft spot for goats, this is Charlie and he really needs a family and herd to call his own. Charlie is a five year old Alpine. He has had a tough time with folks during his life and needs someone to give him the time to begin to trust and enjoy life again. His number one need is a herd and a place to roam safely.

Charlie was recently castrated at UC Davis (September 13th) and is gradually calming down from a life fueled by testosterone. He is also up to date on vaccines and has been wormed.

Update on past gofundme projects
A huge thank you to everyone who donated towards our horizontal sheds! It’s so nice to have the much needed storage space for all our numerous bits and pieces that were taking up space in our hay shed. We can’t thank you enough for your generosity - we know it wasn’t an exciting cause so your donations are even more appreciated, especially right before the holidays. Thanks again for your support.

Our Board member is raising funds to help BHR purchase 2 outdoor storage containers. These will be used to store tools and buckets, etc. and will free up some much needed space. All donations go directly to Blue Horse Rescue and the GoFundMe will automatically generate a donation receipt for you. We thank you and the horses and ponies thank you.

Many thanks for all your donations. Caballo’s owners lost everything in the fire and we’ve committed to helping him through your donations. Today, we had our farrier check out and trim his feet. So far no burns or abscesses. Our barn survived, our horses survived, today is a better day. Edited to add : We’ve read many of our neighbors are missing cats. We’ll be putting out cat food and access to water just in case they stop by.

We’d like to thank everyone for their donations to Higby Feed. Many neighbors on English Hills Rd in Vacaville have lost everything and we’re so grateful for being able to help our neighbors. Your donation that you’ve called in to Higby’s under our BHR account is helping feed 200 sheep, a horse, a goat and tomorrow we’ll begin helping with 7 cows. We’re reaching out to you today to ask for help. We were able to evacuate but many of our neighbors in Vacaville and English Hills Rd have lost everything.
