We have beef available!

Our recent purchase of some low elevation irrigated farm land has extended our beef processing season.

We have 1 very large whole beef and 1 unsold quarter aging at the butcher now. These can still be custom cut to your specifications.

Contact me if you are interested.

Hello to all of our beef customers.

Good news and bad news.

The good news is the steers all look great.
The bad news is our grass growth and cow watering sites have been severely impacted by the drought.

So due to the drought conditions in our region we will be processing all if this year's beef steers on 7/18.

I know that this earlier processing date may cause issues for some of you and I will gladly refund deposits if this is an issue for anyone.

I will be contacting all customers who have reserved beef for this year with hanging weights and delivery dates as soon as i receive this information from the butcher.

Again I apologise for this change but grass finishing is VERY weather dependant.

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!

Levi and I did a quick check of the pregnant mama cows before the Caps Knights game tonight. All looking great!

A belated thank you to our cattle drive crew for your help getting the girls to their summer pasture!

04/20/2018

We did a quick pasture move across the county road today in preperation for the storm. Pray for snow everyone!

This dry winter has allowed the girls to continue grazing this winter. Is this the calm before the storm?

The newest family member had his first day with the cows yesterday. He spent it chewing on fence insulators while we did fence repair. He is going to be great!

We enjoyed our visit to our mother cows today who are out on range. It's getting to be the season where we get to meet new members of the herd when we visit, like this little dude. He came a little early but looks great!

The pasture the momma cows are is dry this spring so we are walking them across the road to a better water source every day. It's an enjoyable walk. The weaned calves get the easy water as we can't pull this sort of thing off with that unruly bunch!

The replacement part for the calf table came just in time for tomorrow's handling day. Some assembly was required!

Why is choosing the “right” food so complicated? We’ve all been there. You’re at the supermarket picking up what you need for dinner and as you head down the aisle you’re amazed at the choices and you’re paralyzed by not being able to decipher the barrage of claims on labels. Besides that, you can’t...

In 1980  when I first moved to the West, to Flagstaff, Arizona, one of the first things I did was become involved as an environmentalist and join the Sierra Club and, shortly thereafter, Earth First!. I was excited about my new home, about the mountains, canyons, rivers, and wide open spaces, and wa...
