🦎💚 CHUNKY TAILS, ADORABLE FACES, AND SOME PRETTY COOL FACTS! 😍✨

Have you met our African Fat-Tailed Geckos at Emerald Exotics?! 👀 These little reptiles are full of surprises, and we’re here to tell you why they’re so special! 🧡

🌿 🦎 FAT-TAILED GECKO FUN FACTS! 🦎🌿

🧡 THOSE CHUNKY TAILS HAVE A PURPOSE! Their thick tails store fat, giving them an energy reserve when food is scarce!

🌙 NIGHT OWLS! These geckos are primarily nocturnal, meaning they’re most active at night.

👀 THEY HAVE EYELIDS! Unlike many gecko species, fat-tailed geckos have movable eyelids that help them blink and close their eyes.

🦗 BUG LOVERS! They’re insectivores, meaning their diet consists of insects like crickets, roaches, and other appropriately sized feeder insects.

🏡 AFRICAN NATIVES! They naturally come from West Africa, where they inhabit warm environments with plenty of hiding spots.

🦎 LEOPARD GECKO COUSINS! They may look similar to leopard geckos, but African fat-tailed geckos are their own unique species, with different patterns and care needs!

💚 DID YOU KNOW? Fat-tailed geckos can drop their tails if threatened! The tail can regrow, but it usually won’t look exactly like the original.

👇 LET’S TALK GECKOS! 👇

🐍🏜️ FUN FACTS: SAHARAN SAND BOAS! 🏜️🐍

Meet the Saharan sand boa (Eryx muelleri) — the adorable little snake that looks like a living potato! 🥔😂💛

✨ Did you know?

🏜️ They’re incredible burrowers and can move through loose sand like they’re swimming!

👀 Their little eyes are positioned toward the top of their heads, helping them peek out while staying hidden.

🥔 Their chunky bodies and short tails give them that adorable potato-shaped appearance!

🥷 They use their sandy colors to camouflage themselves in their natural environment.

🍽️ They’re ambush predators, patiently waiting for prey instead of chasing it around.

🐍 Unlike many snakes, Saharan sand boas give birth to LIVE babies instead of laying eggs! 😲💕

🌙 They may be more active during cooler nighttime hours when desert temperatures drop.

❤️ These little snakes prove that you don’t have to be big to be amazing!

Tell us in the comments: Would you keep one of these adorable little sand potatoes? 🥔🐍👇
