🐚 🌊 This is the vacation home (and the 3rd project) we’ve done for a client I started working with in 2007 - back then, I sewed her curtains and refinished her furniture and she paid me in Arby’s roast beef sandwiches - true story. ((What a 20-something wannabe designer will do for a blank canvas!))

18 years later, this house - which is on the water in a sleepy, untouched little town called Saint Helena Island that looks out towards Dataw (outside Beaufort, SC) started as one of those “tiny house” kits (aka not a custom home) that they drop off in the yard…. But then I got a hold of it 😆 I think the GC probably has a Stephanie voodoo doll with straight pins stuck in it, but he’ll live. The 2-story oyster shell fireplace and the pickled wall stain are already jaw droppers but I can’t wait to see her with furniture & textiles layered in this Fall 🤍 Stay tuned!

After & Befores of the Renovation at our house 🏡 It was (not livable) when we bought it: built in 1880, no foundation on one side when we bought it in 2021, an entire exterior wall that had no studs in it and was held together with popsicles & dreams….. asbestos, soot from the coal mines in the 19th century, dust on velvet walls from that same era…. IT WAS SOMETHIN. But we always loved it anyway and we always knew what it could be ❤️ It took almost 3 years, a lotta roadblocks and a few near-nervous breakdowns to renovate it, but now she’s a little dreamboat ☁️🛳️

Imperfect iPhone progress photos of the dreamiest bedroom - before all the fluffing and tzjeuzing. That muddy citrine wall-to-wall custom mohair bed is my favorite ☁️☁️☁️ and took some engineering to get those sconces in there. We’ll get her + a few other recent projects 📸 this Fall 🫶🏼
