Happy adoption day to our sweet Penny.

Penny came to Saving Webster Dogs back in September and patiently waited her turn, watching our influx of Walker girls get adopted or rescued one by one—everyone except her. A beautiful Treeing Walker Coonhound, maybe with a little Foxhound mixed in (who really knows), Penny just kept waiting and trusting that her people would find her.

After several Facebook posts and the sharing of those posts by our amazing followers, Penny’s story finally reached Bob and his wife, Lisa. It had been some time since they’d had a dog, and they decided it was time again—and Penny was the one.

Through the magic of Facebook, phone calls, and text messages, Saving Webster Dogs volunteers worked together to coordinate a get-together that would change Penny’s life—and Bob and Lisa’s too. Just look at the smile on her face. It’s as if she already knew Bob was her person, the one who would take care of her forever. After this short meet-and-greet, the deal was sealed, and Penny was on her way home to Virginia—her forever home. As they headed out, Bob was already calling her Baby Doll, and we think that says it all.

Boomer went on his first-ever Home Depot run this week.

As a senior coonhound, he inspected every aisle, accepted several compliments from strangers, loved on some little ones, sniffed at least 47 things that were definitely not dogs, and left without buying a single tool.

10/10 trip. Would shop again.
(He’s now napping like he worked a full shift.) 😄

Boomer is still available for rescue or adoption. Ask us how you can meet this awesome hound!

Mid-week transport...because Saving Webster Dogs moves when the weather is good and the drivers are available.

These beautiful German Shepherd puppies came to us as strays from the pound—2 boys and 2 girls, about 6 months old. Meet Belladonna, Chaos, Oden, and Meria. Luckily, they didn’t have to spend much time in our outside kennels because our awesome rescue partner, DAWGS Prison Programs in Pottsville, PA, stepped up once again to help.

Here they are on their long journey to the next chapter of their forever story, catching their ride north to DAWGS.

A huge thank you to volunteer drivers Trish and Neal for getting these pups where they needed to be for the next leg of their transport, and another big thank you to DAWGS for always being there to help us help them.

Adoption Celebration: Scooby Is Home!

We are overjoyed to share that Scooby, our beautiful redbone coonhound boy, has officially found his forever family 💙.

Scooby came to Saving Webster Dogs as a stray in early August. With his stunning looks and gentle soul, we truly believed an adopter would come quickly — but for months, interest was heartbreakingly quiet.

Then, in mid-December, something special happened.

Yolanda sent a generous donation to our rescue along with this note:

“We lost two redbone coonhound rescues this year — one was 14 and the other almost 12. Eventually we’ll adopt another, but in the meantime, we wanted to help pay for Scooby’s (and your other dogs’) care.”

In our thank-you note, we told her that when her family’s hearts had healed and they were ready, to please reach out.

Well… it didn’t take long.

Just two days after Christmas, Yolanda emailed asking if we could help coordinate a miracle — a meet and greet the very next day. Her family was willing to drive five hours one way so their two children could meet Scooby before heading home from the holidays.

With Rose away, our incredible support team jumped into action, and volunteers Trish and Drew graciously opened their home for them to meet Scooby. The family made the trip, met our precious boy… and of course, fell completely in love. ❤️

Scooby went home that same day.

Now he’s living the good life — learning how to be an inside dog, soaking up love, and enjoying every moment of his new beginning.

Please join us in thanking our amazing volunteers, and especially Yolanda and her family, for turning a generous act of kindness into a beautiful, belated Christmas wish come true.

Happy tails, sweet Scooby — you were always meant to be theirs. 💙

❤️ Together We Can Heal Neo & Nyla — Donations Needed ❤️

This past weekend, Saving Webster Dogs rescued six dogs in desperate need. Two of them—Neo and Nyla—are just 10-month-old hound mixes who have already suffered far more than any puppy should.

They are battling mange, worms, ear infections, visible injuries, and malnutrition. While we don’t know their past, we do know this: they are finally safe and no longer alone.

Neo and Nyla are resting in an emergency foster home and beginning the long road to recovery. Vet care, medications, and proper nutrition are all ahead—and we need your help to make that possible.

💔➡️❤️ Please consider donating to support their healing. Every dollar and every share truly makes a difference.

Thank you for standing with Saving Webster Dogs and for giving these sweet souls a chance at a new beginning.

ADOPTION ALERT!!

Sherman has left the building — finally!

After waiting far too long, this handsome Plottie boy is officially on his way to the life he’s been dreaming of. Sherman came to Saving Webster Dogs back in June, and from day one, all he wanted was a family and a home to call his own.

Enter Lisa and her husband. After losing their beloved Plott, Diesel, in November, they were hoping to find another Plott to join their family and be a companion to their remaining dog, Skillett. Sometimes, things truly fall into place exactly when they’re meant to.

With Christmas right around the corner, our team jumped into action — quickly approving the adoption, getting Sherman vetted, and planning transport. Huge thanks to our amazing volunteers Trish and Drew, who once again graciously offered to meet the adopters halfway between West Virginia and Ohio at a dog park in Huntington, WV.

The meet-and-greet between Sherman and Skillett went wonderfully, and just like that, Sherman was on his way home. While he was a little unsure about this whole “living in a house” thing at first, he’s already learning the ropes from Skillett and settling in beautifully. 💙 It truly looks like a match made in heaven.

Thank you so much to Lisa and family for opening your hearts and home to Sherman.

Happy tails, Sherman!

We continue to see puppies coming from Webster County, and each one reminds us why our work matters so much. While we are proud to offer free spay/neuter services to support our community, our hearts remain focused on caring for the puppies who arrive and giving them the best possible start in life.

That said, we are incredibly thankful that we are not alone in this work. Because of our amazing rescue partners, these precious souls get the chance they deserve.

Today, we are thrilled to introduce our newest rescue partner, Knine Rescue Inc. out of Ashton, MD. They stepped up without hesitation to help these beautiful pups — Hope, Evie, Natalia, and Pax — and we could not be more grateful.

Please join us in giving a huge WELCOME to Knine Rescue, Inc. to the Saving Webster Dogs family and thanking them profusely for opening their hearts, their homes, and their rescue to these babies. Because of them, these pups are one step closer to their forever families.

It truly takes a village — and we are so thankful for ours.

SAVING WEBSTER DOGS

Hello from the beautiful mountains of West Virginia!!

Welcome to the official FB page of Foxfire Farm Kennels, Inc. aka Saving Webster Dogs. We rescue out of a rural 6 run high-kill pound in Webster Springs, in Cowen, WV. We are a tiny handful of dedicated volunteers who take pictures and network, foster and provide lifesaving rescue for code red dogs that ar e given 5 days, or euthanasia. We are donation based and receive no funding from the County. Every little bit helps us save the lives of these beautiful Webster dogs, it takes a village. If you’d like to foster or help us transport some vet runs, please email us at [email protected].

You can also be a hero and donate any amount towards our rescue, by clicking here to our PayPal: www.paypal.me/savingwebsterdogs

Your donation will go towards high quality food, bedding, and much needed veterinary care. Often times it’s the first time these animals are treated with love and kindness. Will you help us and become a Webster Warrior?
