This is such a great way to honor our veterans. Please help if you can by sponsoring a wreath or by attending and placing the wreaths at a veterans gravesite. I will either be in Covington or Slidell this weekend doing so. I'm not sure I can handle the long walk to the cemetary this year for the special program they have. The Covington cemetary would be easier on me physically, but either way I will be attending.

You can join thousands laying wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery this Saturday.

Amazing...

"Yesterday I witnessed something that took my breath away. I heard a sound at the window of the cottage. When I looked, a cedar waxwing had hit the window and fallen to the deck. It’s mate stood beside it. It was clear that the fallen bird was dead. I turned away for a moment and when I looked again, it’s mate had hopped over. It lay down beside its partner, their heads touching. It closed its eyes and passed over to Spirit with its mate. The sadness and beauty of the moment was such a privilege to witness. If anyone has ever doubted that animals feel emotion and love, this moment was absolute proof of both. Nature truly has much to teach us."

Sam is so mischievous. This is what I came home to, which convinces me even more that he has a bottomless stomach. How am I going to get him to lose weight? This mess was worse than you can see in the picture. Guess I'll have to leave him in a kennel for now on when I leave. Lady would never do this.
