We are open until 6pm today for medication pickup! We will return open Monday, December 1st at 8am.

Our sister clinic Sigman Veterinary Clinic will be open Friday 11/28 from 9am-2pm and Saturday 11/29 from 8am-12pm with limited appointment availability. They can be reached at 770-787-1581 and we recommend calling early if you are needing an appointment. They will do their best to try to accommodate you!

We hope your pet will not need after hours veterinary care, but in the event they do we have shared several options for emergency care below. Please note that there are other facilities within Metro Atlanta besides what is listed!

We always recommend calling ahead so that the emergency facility can best assist you. Many places may be under staffed due to the holiday which may mean longer wait times or the possibility that they are at capacity and cannot accommodate additional patients. Please remember to be kind and patient with them!

As we gather around the table it may be tempting to share our Thanksgiving feast with our pets but many of our holiday dishes can be toxic! It’s best to avoid giving our pets any people food as even a small amount can cause GI upset.

A reminder we will be open normal business hours tomorrow. We recommend calling early in the morning if you are in need of an appointment or medication refills!

November is Senior Pet Health Month! Did you know that dogs and cats are considered seniors at age 7? Pets age must faster than us!

Here are some ways to ensure our seniors get the best care during their golden years:
- Regular vet visits: at minimum annual exams and lab work. Early detection of diseases can increase treatment options.
- Nutrition: Feeding a senior specific diet and having your pet on a joint supplement. Ensure your pets maintain a healthy weight.
- Exercise: Short, regular walks are great for mental stimulation and helps to keep them fit.
- Home Monitoring: Changes in behavior can indicate health issues and may warrant a vet visit to discuss the changes. Provide soft bedding and non-slip rugs or mats for pets with mobility issues.
- Adoption: November is also Adopt a Senior Month! Senior pets are less likely to be adopted. Many senior pets are already trained, have calm demeanors and are typically less demanding than puppies and kittens. Adopting a senior saves a life!

World Rabies Day is globally observed and was started in 2007 to raise awareness about this deadly disease.

According to the CDC, nearly 60,000 people die each year around the world from rabies. Rabies is 100% preventable so ensure you keep your pets up to date on their rabies vaccine!

Did you know that GA law requires that ALL owned dogs and cats be vaccinated for rabies by a licensed veterinarian...Yes, this includes indoor only cats! In Newton County, all dogs and cats over 3 months of age are to be vaccinated annually per Newton County Animal Control Ordinance.

Is your dog or cat overdue on their rabies vaccine? Call today to schedule an appointment!
