A local resident has a litter of kittens that will be ready to leave Mama in a few weeks. There are 5 kittens available, and they are ~6 weeks old. They are litter trained, wonderful with adults and kids, and enjoy being both indoor and outdoor.

As the summer heat makes its appearance, all pet owners need to be especially careful and monitor their dogs for signs and symptoms of heat stroke! Here are some helpful prevention tips:

💧Provide plenty of fresh water. Dogs should have as much access to cool and clean water as possible.
🌳Shade. This could be a shade tree, doghouse, etc. This is especially crucial during peak sun hours (about 10AM - 4PM). Providing an air-conditioned space alongside shade is even better.
🏃Avoid exercise in heat. Limit time outside and strenuous activity to early morning or the evening as the sun goes down.
🥵Be aware of humidity. High humidity can increase the risk of heat stroke.

These are just a few ways to prevent heat stroke in your beloved pets. If you notice any of the signs or symptoms in the picture below, please call your vet IMMEDIATELY!

Happy Tail! 😄

We're overjoyed to announce the adoption of a long-time resident, Snubby, who is now called Jasmine! Thanks to the help of our friends at Northeast Coonhound Rescue, Jasmine has found her furever home! Our sweet girl had been with us since March of 2024. We've had the privilege of watching her grow into the playful, affectionate, and tender-hearted girl she is, and we're overjoyed that she found the perfect family to share her love with. 🥹
Let's celebrate Jasmine's new beginning! 🥳🎉

A local dog is in need of rehoming! Chessie is a 3 year old Aussie/Bernese mix! She is a protective dog and is very loyal. Chessie would highly prefer to be the only dog in the home. Her current owners say she is sweet to her people and would be great for a young couple with no other children or pets.

If Chessie seems like a good fit for you, please contact Brenda at (540) 290-7698

Nova is a 4 year old mixed breed between 40-50lbs who needs to be rehomed. She is trained and microchipped and does great with other pets. She has faced abuse from neighbors so she needs a calm introduction to a new owner and would do better in a home with a fenced in yard adequately spaced away from any neighbors.

For more information, please contact Travis Gray at (757) 955-9871.

Luke is a blue heeler turning 2 years old in August. He is wonderful with kids and other pets, but is hesitant of men. He is being rehomed at no fault of his own. He is used to being outside when the current owner is not home and inside when the owner is home and can come with his current boundary collar.
If you're interested in Luke, please call Nicole (Nikki) Elmore at (240) 904-1294!
