Covunity Fridge (2!) is loaded up and headed to its new home. Please wish us safe travels & stay tuned for a Community Art Day, where all will be welcome to add a personal touch to this small but mighty addition to the Westside neighborhood.

Covunity Fridge (2!) is coming to the Westside neighborhood soon 🙂 CovCSA is honored to provide space for a “free” fridge and pantry offering fresh produce, heat & eat meals, dry goods and access to hot/cold drinking water.

1&2: plot tilled by Steve Roller with tractor ⏩️ 3&4: addition of some good-good river topsoil from creek maintenance by with front-end loader ⏩️ 5&6: bed shaped and ready to direct seed greens & root veg by yours truly with muscle & hard rake

Today’s topics: mindful land management, habitat conservation and erosion prevention while reimagining a landscape & muscles.

I’d like to “give back” lil bits of knowledge gathered and methods collected over my first decade of small-scale sustainable farming. This is based on personal research and study, paired with real life experience in the field. Feel free to react, comment & share how ya like, and if you’re a scientist whose peer-reviewed journal publications disprove any hypotheses I make or encourage me to learn new/additional knowledge, please educate me further 😋

First day back to farmin’ full time!

Chopped and dropped the “overgrowth”*of the past 2 yrs on the Russell St side of the garden.
The amount of debris I broke down with my own two hands was the perfect amount to mulch the perimeter of the beds. Magic?! Nah, just math! 😅

The re-use of the torn plastic from my high tunnel with an “incomplete roof”* has been sequesterin’ carbon & the microorganisms have been hard at work makin’ my soil rich and healthy.
A little broadforkin’ and rakin’ will provide comfy beds for spring planting & the plastic will be upcycled for low tunnels to protect the tender youngin’s from the cold snaps ahead.

All materials were FREE. If not for code violations for my wonky (but totally intentional) ways, my labor would be paid by the purchase of ONE CSA SHARE 🤔

Hello there!

After hitting "pause" on the CSA for the 2022 season, I'm proud to say that my continued work (beginning in 2017) organizing and operating for Renaissance Covington, resulted in the completion of a 2 year contract with the City of Covington on July 1, 2022- keeping our local Market open and thriving during the global COVID pandemic and setting the Market up for viability and success in the years to come.

I am no longer organizing the Market, but will continue to give it my love and support as a visitor until I am ready to scale up my production and become a vendor again!

COV CSA is BACK and registration is OPEN for the 2023 season!

I am looking forward to another season of growth, pursuing my passion for preserving and protecting green space in the City & working for you as a full-time farmer.

Hello there!

After hitting "pause" on the CSA for the 2022 season, I'm proud to say that my continued work (beginning in 2017) organizing and operating Covington Farmers Market for Renaissance Covington, resulted in the completion of a 2 year contract with the City of Covington on July 1, 2022- keeping our local Market open and thriving during the global COVID pandemic and setting the Market up for viability and success in the years to come.
