🐾The place command is an essential command that will teach your dog to settle down in any situation which is especially difficult for Taz. (Special Note: please admire his frog legs 🤣) It gives your dog a job to do instead of the job they choose for themselves. In Chuck's case, we will use it to manage his resource guarding behavior and to have a station to go to while leashing up rather than playing tag with his owners when they don't feel like playing such games. 😅 As you can see Chuck thoroughly enjoys his bed. Taz also loves his bed as he chooses to go there to settle down instead of knocking over furniture. Nova's enrichment time

Little miss Nova does! *Nova is one of my personal dogs and has been struggling with disengaging from play time with her brothers when told. *Not only does Nova have a "place/go to your mat" command already in her vocabulary, but we have been working on "settle" on command. *Lots of time and patience is required in achieving a "true" settle on command. 🌟WHAT YOU SEE👀: a dog watching another dog walking by. 🌟WHAT I SEE👀: 🙌 Successful training of a leash reactive dog. 🌊 •CONFESSIONS OF A DOG TRAINER ... My dog Max regularly attends doggy daycare and is fine with dogs off leash. •HOWEVER... My dog is leash reactive and especially sensitive to any tension on the leash. ▪️No dog is perfect. ▪️Many dogs suffer from this especially after lockdown and pandemic. ▪️We have been working at this for a little while now to get to where we are today. He no longer is reactive as long as we are moving/walking, but if a dog passes while sitting are still he is still reactive (barking/lunging) 10% of the time. I am so proud of how far he has come. 💠LEASH REACTIVITY=FRUSTRATION from excitement (most of the time). ▫️Is it embarrassing ? Absolutely. Especially since he is my dog ▫️Is it a lot of work to overcome? Absolutely!! It doesn't fix itself that's for sure. ️Repetition,lots of time and patience. 《♡And..... this is what success looks like.♡》

Confidence building with Toby

Hanging with this guy tonight- Toby ****What you see vs. What I see**** WHAT YOU SEE: a dog just chilling on a dock by the water as calm as can be. WHAT I SEE: A dog who is hyper attached to his sister and lacks confidence without her. A boy who was once afraid of a hair dryer, the vacuum, the Klimb platform, and anything else out of place. A boy who once would shut down and avoid.... a boy who had a successful visit at Rocky point today with lots of people, dogs, strollers, and other things on wheels. A boy whose parents are working hard to build his confidence and it shows!!!!

Leash reactivity

Leash Reactivity aka any unwanted reaction to a stimulus not necessarily stemming from aggression. Do you all remember little miss Esme ?! She is now 9 months old and loves to talk to everyone and everything. We have been working super hard on her leash reactivity towards.... well, just about anything when we started.... Today, she is only reactive to other dogs. With lots of counterconditioning Ezzie now looks to her handler when she sees a stimulus (person/place/thing ) instead of barking/lunging/reacting.

Impulse control exercises.

Excuse the disheveled look of mine. We did a quick training session before bed. When training my pup I use her kibble since she is so highly food motivated. I save the higher value treats for when I need it most like with high distractions.

This little lady is getting big fast!! The boys just love her. Tip: When introducing a new pup to your resident dogs give it time, go slow, be patient, never force things. For those of you who have been following oldest pitbull mix Eli took to Nova first. Taking her under his wing, playing with her to tire her out during puppy zoomie time, and helping her overcome some obstacles. Then there is Maximas my giant GSD baby who had a harder time accepting her lack of manners. Over the last few days he has shown that he has also accepted her into our pack leaving a few morsels of his food for her, taking her out and showing her that we have to go outside to potty, playing tag, and just generally supervising her every move from afar. I witness him even redirecting her away from trouble which is amazing to watch. I don't regret getting a 3rd dog one bit for those who thought I was nuts. Are puppies hard work?! Absolutely!!! BUT IF YOU PUT IN THE WORK NOW, TRUST ME IT WILL SAVE YOU IN THE LONG RUN. I work with my pup multiple times a day, every single day. My clients put in at least three, 5-10 min. Training sessions per day. Those clients that put in the work end up transforming their dogs and changing their lives.

Gabi Girl If you all remember the confident, smart, well behaved pup previously shown in videos? She has taken this trainer and her parents on quite the roller coaster of puppyhood. Gabi had an extremely tough fear period... she was afraid to even go for walks outside and nothing would get her to keep moving. We are past that now. Her confidence has grown since then. Stay tuned for her day training session to improve manners and reliability while out in public !! <3 My Gabi girl!
