Happy Easter all
First show of 2025 done! Few pics from through out the day. Yep just a schooling show.. but not just a schooling show.. it’s a great opportunity for WEC and everyone to do the spring shake down, show prep get the grounds ready,get the truck and trailer ready, find the show stall water buckets, hoses, stall cleaning supplies and so much more.

All overnight and day Stabling will be at Barn A

All competition will be held at ring one
You may notice that the show grounds grass is a little long.
The method to this madness is
One early spring dandelions, and flowers for the bees.
Two more worms for the robins.
Three we will be cutting it and turning it into Haylage for the Cows next week.
A win win for all

The March 30th schooling show is canceled due to a family emergency in Oklahoma and low subscription for the show.
We will be contacting the individuals that have entered to discuss further options for your entry.
We apologize for this inconvenience and we do hope to see everyone in April.. yes the show is Easter Sunday.. we hope to have a few extra festive things happening that Sunday also.. stay tuned for details

Happy Nee Year to everyone!

A special poem to ring in the New Year for us all: A Farmer’s Gate.

We reckon this one sums up perfectly what we’re all about and what we’re working to achieve here.

"Out on the land, with skies so wide,
The farmer works, his dog by his side.
The sheep may scatter, the cows may stray, The horses may run and buck

But he leans on his gate at the end of the day.

It’s not just a gate, it’s a moment to pause,
To breathe in the air and consider the cause.
It’s where one can think, let his worries unwind,
And leave some of those heavy burdens behind.

But gates aren’t just places to lean on, you see,
They’re where mates can gather for a chat, simply.
A quick yarn, a laugh, or a serious talk,
can lighten the load and steady the walk.

So here’s to the gate, and the farmer who knows,
That out in the fields, where the tall grass grows,
By taking a moment to lean and reflect,

Ok all you WEC (Whidbey) horse show fans and supporters…
As promised the Barn D and E have gotten their base face lift!
Sept was a complete tare down, and this week we are leveling and trenching to help manage rain water!
And lots of rock.
We will be doing maintenance, repairs and welding to the barns over the winter getting ready for the barn raising in the spring.
