Why are Annual Exams so important? 🐶🐱❤️

Even if your pet seems totally healthy, their yearly check-up is still super important! A lot can change in a year, and these visits help us keep your furry friend feeling their best.

At an annual exam, we can:
✨ Make sure everything is on track with their overall health
✨ Stay up-to-date on vaccines and preventatives
✨ Catch little things before they become bigger concerns
✨ Talk through any questions you have—big or small!

It’s also a chance for us to get to know your pet better and build a history that helps us care for them in the long run.

Think of it as a wellness check, not a “something’s wrong” visit. We love seeing your pets happy, healthy, and thriving!

Today we’re celebrating three years of Sam being part of the B2B family! 🐾 From day one, she’s brought so much knowledge, compassion, and dedication to our clinic and we're so thankful for that.

When she’s not here with us, Sam is pouring her heart into her own business, Canine Connections Dog Training, where she continues to make a big impact in the lives of many. We’re so proud to have someone on our team who’s always learning, growing, and giving back to our furry community.

🧐 Find Out Friday… a Day Early!

Yesterday, we shared a case about Sam’s pup, Fenris, and a mysterious white spot on his eye. After a few exams with a handful of doctors, we have a diagnosis: Pannus!

Also known as *chronic superficial keratitis*, Pannus is a lifelong condition that affects a dog’s cornea. It involves blood vessels and scar tissue gradually invading the cornea, and if left untreated, it can lead to blindness.

But don’t worry- there are ways to manage it so Fenris can still live his best life!

One of those ways? His stylish goggles! 😎 Since Pannus can be worsened by UV exposure (thanks to an immune system response to irritants like sunlight), Fenris rocks his sunglasses on bright days- yes, even indoors. Gotta protect those peepers and stay cool at the same time!

We’re grateful for quick thinking and early detection- and for Sam, who’s always looking out for her boy. 💙

🔎 What’s That Wednesday 🐾
This month, we're spotlighting one of our very own pups-Fenris! If you’ve ever visited the front desk while Sam is working, chances are you’ve seen him answering the phones up front and maybe even sporting his signature goggles 🥽!

Recently, Fenris was seen by Dr. Keith Collins at Eye Care for Animals in Pewaukee for a white spot on his right eye. Sam had been monitoring the area with Dr. Jaclyn, and when it didn’t improve over time, they decided a referral to an ophthalmologist was the best next step.

During the exam, Dr. Collins noted a small, elliptical white lesion on the cornea along with mild inflammation.
