We had a great evening at the Daddy Daughter dance. The kids & I worked all day on projects outside and fed hay. We met Trevor Rhoades and his family for dinner at Ludlows prior to the dance. I got to dance with all three of my beauties tonight. Vayda was one of 5 winners of the limbo contest. You can see her award the sunglasses in the picture Casey Coates was nice enough to take of Mila, Vayda and I. We listened to Lainey Wilson on the ride home. Cylas asked me to stop and take a picture of the sunset before we hit the highway on the way to Ames to get ready for a sale tomorrow. It was a busy but fun day.

This is purebred heifer we took to the Iowa State Fair. She is a Copacetic out of a really good Broker cow we had sold to Billy Salley. I bought her out of the AL MS State Sale this spring. She is still really green as we haven’t fed her hard. She’s always been super quiet but was stubborn so I put her on my breaking donkey and she hurt her ears. They will be ok and get a little better every day. It would be hard to find many purebred heifers as structurally sound and as naturally big bellied. I just wanted to get her out once so she will be easy for the kids to handle. My 5 year old Mila took her all over after the show & on Sunday by herself. If we get some time with her she will make one hell of good bred heifer. One thing I know for sure is she will be a phenomenal cow and that’s what it’s all about!
