🚨 Spay/Neuter Appointments Available Now! 🚨

Just a friendly reminder that we host low-cost clinics every week to help make essential care a little easier to get! We partner up with Shelter Outreach Services to make these happen, usually on Fridays, though we do occasionally have to switch up the day if scheduling quirks pop up.

We're down to our last few spots for June, but we have plenty of openings left for July! Dog spaces are super limited and always fill up fast, so definitely grab your summer spot soon.

🐾 SHELTER CAPACITY UPDATE 🐾

🚨 We are currently at full capacity and unable to accept any animals at this time. 🚨

This past week alone, six litters of very young kittens were brought to us after being found outside without their mothers. In most cases, they were believed to have been abandoned. Some are sick or underweight and receiving medical care, while others are healthy but too young to be without mom and require bottle feeding and close care. Because of this, they are not yet available for adoption and must remain in the shelter or with experienced fosters.

If you would like to help, we are gratefully accepting donations to support the animals currently in our care. We are also in urgent need of foster homes. (Fosters must be able to keep kittens fully separated from other animals, and all pets in the home must be up to date on vaccinations, as these kittens may carry unknown illnesses from being outdoors.) Foster applications are available at cortlandspca.org 🙂

We are also working through nearly 200 owner surrender requests, mostly for dogs. We ask for your patience and understanding as we focus on the animals already in our care. Until more pets are adopted, we are unable to bring in new animals.

We need your help! Our Community Pet Food Pantry is running critically low on dog and cat food, and we could really use some help restocking our shelves.

We’re happy to accept any brand of dog or cat food, wet or dry. We can also take opened bags of food as long as they’ve been stored properly and haven’t been contaminated.

We know times can be tough, and sometimes families just need a little extra help. Our pet food pantry helps keep pets fed, cared for, and where they belong: at home with the people who love them.

If you’d like to help, donations can be dropped off at the shelter during business hours.
