Holiday traffic alert!
Please be aware of Flour Bluff Drive will be closed starting November 6 until the end of November
October 30, 2023 (Corpus Christi, Texas) – Flour Bluff ISD has been notified by the city of Corpus Christi that there is an upcoming road closure in Flour Bluff: There is a City of Corpus Christi stormwater improvement project that will begin November 6th on Glenoak Drive. Beginning stages of the project have begun at the west end of Glenoak, close to the Cayo Del Oso, and have been progressing back to the east towards Flour Bluff Drive. The contractor is now nearing the intersection at Flour Bluff Drive and will soon begin work at the intersection.
This stormwater line connection will require full road closure for about 4 weeks starting around November 6. Message boards will go up along the roadsides days in advance to warn travelers of the upcoming closure. There will be a closure on Flour Bluff Drive from Yorktown Boulevard to Purdue Road and a closure of Glenoak Drive from Waldron Road to the dead end. While these closures are in effect, resident access will be maintained, and only local traffic will be allowed. The City of Corpus Christi Engineering Department is managing the construction project and will keep an eye on how this closure affects traffic in the area. Please note that Schell St, Grand Canal, and Louisville St will have signs that are not in the way of FBISD buses turning radius. FBISD buses will be able to use Flour Bluff Drive from Schell St to Yorktown southbound and Louisville to SPID northbound. Routes 8, 9, 10, and SPED 2 will deviate from the route to designated stops due to the construction. However, designated stops will remain the same. Pick-up and drop-off estimated times will remain the same but may vary depending on traffic and/or construction.
