Hi everyone, I’ve had a couple people asking me how I managed to keep my Goldendoodle long. I think she’s about an inch and a half maybe 2 inches long now. I’m not really good with that. Tabatha always laughs at me!!🤣 so I thought I would make a post about how I keep my dog long so you all know I work a lot of hours and live on a small farm and also watch my 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter full-time. so weekly she gets brushed out and I do get mats(knots) that’s the picture that I showed you and I try to wash her at least once every two weeks today it took me an hour just to brush her out and check her for Foxtails because they are bad this year, when I do wash her, I’m looking at at least a two hour experience. I don’t allow her to get dirty. She is strictly an inside dog as with most golden doodles that are long. If for some reason, Remi were to get dirty or wet, she would be brought in and immediately cleaned and dried. That’s what prevents her getting the mats. Another part of it is genetics and good coats. I am blessed that she is not super curly she has a nice wavy thick coat. This is not attainable for everybody. It’s a lot of work and sometimes I think to myself what are you doing? You don’t have time to do this, but she is one that I like nice and fluffy. She’s kind of at a funny stage in her grow out right now so it looks funny, but hopefully one day will get nice long hair !!❤️ Anyways I hope everybody’s having a great day. I thought I would just tell you what I do personally as a groomer to maintain my dog at a longer coat. On my day off🤦♀️🤣 thank you to everyone we appreciate you all❤️
