Our hearts are heavy today as we let you all know that our beloved German Shepherd, Champ, passed away peacefully at home. He was our constant, cherished companion during the last 13 years and was adored by the entire Biden family. Even as Champ’s strength waned in his last months, when we came into a room, he would immediately pull himself up, his tail always wagging, and nuzzle us for an ear scratch or a belly rub. Wherever we were, he wanted to be, and everything was instantly better when he was next to us. He loved nothing more than curling up at our feet in front of a fire at the end of the day, joining us as a comforting presence in meetings, or sunning himself in the White House garden. In his younger days, he was happiest chasing golf balls on the front lawn of the Naval Observatory or racing to catch our grandchildren as they ran around our backyard in Delaware. In our most joyful moments and in our most grief-stricken days, he was there with us, sensitive to our every unspoken feeling and emotion. We love our sweet, good boy and will miss him always.

Dear Client,

We understand and share the concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and we are keeping up to date with CDC recommendations. At this time, we will continue with our normal business hours and scheduled appointments with precautions.

We sanitize our lobby & exam room before and after each appointment with disinfectants. Our team members are washing their hands before and after each appointment. We also offer a drive up service where, if your pet has an appointment, a team member will come out and take your pet inside for the examination while you wait in the car. Your pet must be on a leash or carrier.

When making an appointment, please inform us if anyone in your family is experiencing Flu like symptoms. We are asking that no more than one person accompany your pet to the appointment inside the clinic. We aim to have no more than 1 client in our lobby at all times.

As an alternative, we are also offering phone appointments via Skype or Facetime. We may also visit your home and examine your pet in our mobile unit if your pet needs medical treatment that requires physical contact.

Stay up to date on government updates from the Centers for Disease Control https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html and the Florida Health Department.

According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, currently, there is no evidence that pets can become sick from COVID-19. Infectious disease experts, as well as the CDC, OIE, and WHO indicate there is also no evidence to suggest that pet dogs or cats can be a source of infection, including spreading COVID-19 to people. But this is a fluid situation, and more investigation is underway. As we learn more, we will update you.
