Remi's training today ended on a big note!
This is a 30 minute training session condensed into a 4 minute reel of how we started and ended.
Don't get me wrong, this didn't happen all in one session. Lining up to the mounting block, standing and leaning across his back was accomplished in prior sessions. Most of this session was correcting little things like turning his head to either grab the lead rope or bite at himself like he does at the start of the reel. Behaviors which are due to the fustration of not totally understanding what was being asked of him. In all my training I work with patience and repetition until I am sure he understands what his responsibilities are before I feel I can move on to the next step, which in this case was mounting.
Because of his small stature this was just a quick mount and dismount which is all I will do with him in regards to riding until spring when I will reassess his size. If he doesn't really bulk up his future might have a cart and harness in it. 🤷‍♀️
