Sometimes, our new clients worry about leaving their dogs at a “boarding facility”. There’s nothing “facility” about us. We’re just a family home with lots of space and love. Welcome to our Zoo! Our visitors are getting another rain day, and we are making the most of it with cuddles and some decorating. ❤️😍

Hi, Zoobies! Lisa coming to you from Baja California with a quick update about all things Zoo and to catch everybody up!

We take our relationships and your dogs pretty seriously. I am a US Congressionally-recognized award-winning rescuer and our values run deep. The Zoo looks like a relaxed, (very 🙄) well-lived-in home, but the protocols and routines and systems we have in place come from years of professional animal welfare knowledge, education, and real experience.

A few months ago, after Scott survived Stage 4 cancer, we decided we wanted to spend some time living. We thought we’d close the Zoo, but then an amazing thing happened: Traci.

A former student of Scott’s (20 years ago!), Traci and her family live at the Zoo, and she has been our zookeeper since July.

Traci has what you cannot teach: an instinct with animals, an unrattled calm, and a respect for dogs as sentient beings. She also has our ongoing training and coaching.

We (Scott and Lisa) are involved in every booking. We are communicating with every client before and after each booking. Traci is coached and supported every single day and our clients have had great experiences with her.

Traci has cared for dozens and dozens of guest dogs, plus she has two of our own derps full-time that stayed at the Zoo while we are traveling.
